Its much too dark and rainy for pics of the big finished projects, but these are 2 of my current WIPs. (WIP = work in progress for my non crafty friends!) Pics 1 and 2: #findyourfadeshawl by @dreareneeknits . I& #039 ;ve knit sections 1 and 2, color change starts tomorrow! I& #039 ;m in LOVE with the first color of @malabrigoyarn, Diana on the Mechita base. I know I made a couple mistakes in the first lace section but only my perfectionist self will ever notice 🤣 Pic 3 is the beginning of a "I have to knit that for myself IMMEDIATELY" kinda project: the G& #039 ;night gnome cap by @imagined_landscapes. My love of tomtes (Scandinavian gnomes) just had to have it the minute I saw the pattern. It& #039 ;s slow going with the many many cable twists but I& #039 ;m in love already! Using Malabrigo Rios in the Whole Wheat colorway
Promise to get better pics tomorrow but OH MY LORD I am in LOVE with how this turned out!! This is my second #dottedraysshawl (completely forgot to post the first one 🤦🏼♀️) in Autumn Evening by @sweetpeapurls. These colors are to dye for (hehe, see what I did there?) and this pattern is so easy and satisfying. LOTS of pics of this and other finished projects, and some current WIPs all coming tomorrow!
Photographing yarn accurately is so difficult! Same 3 skeins: laid flat in pic one (looks like 6, the beauty of dye!), caked in pic 2, lined up in my hopeful #findyourfadeshawl order in pic 3. I also found a #minimochi ball that was gifted to me that may be added as well. Winding yarn is one of my favorite things in the world, it& #039 ;s so soothing and watching the colors spin on the swift is just beautiful 🧡🧡🧡 I bought all the @malabrigoyarn Mechita from a closing yarn store months ago, with no plan for it whatsoever. The colors somehow really do work together! Jewel tones are my jam apparently 👍 From left to right in pic 1: 🧡Mechita in Diana 🧡Mechita in Indiecita 🧡Mechita in Arequita The @crystalpalaceyarns Mini Mochi is color 106. I& #039 ;d rather have a million skins of yarn than shoes or clothes any day 🤣
Oh my godddd this yarn is so perfectly vibrant and squishy for a garter stitch pattern!!! I bought this yarn for a specific pattern (which I rarely do 😂), the Dotted Rays (self striping) shawl by @westknits . This is actually the SECOND #DottedRaysShawl I& #039 ;ve cast on; the first one I finished yesterday (pics soon!) and I just couldn& #039 ;t wait to get started with @sweetpeapurls Autumn Evening colorway for a second. My goal is to finish this one by Friday, we& #039 ;ll see how close I get!
When you stumbled upon a new yarn store having a sale as you browse etsy, it& #039 ;s the universe telling to buy more yarn. OBVIOUSLY. Especially when the colorways are Retrograde (left) and Autumn Evening (right) 🧡💜 too perfect to pass up! Finding and supporting small businesses adds so much more joy to my love of knitting. Cant wait to get these babies on the needles, and I& #039 ;ll definitely be visiting @sweetpeapurls shop again and again! . . . #knitting #knitwithlove #knittingmeditation #knittersofIG #craftyyogi #supportsmallbusiness
Because 2 wips just weren& #039 ;t enough, I needed to add a 3rd 🤦♀️
I& #039 ;m getting reacquainted with drop stitch and loving it. Yarn the Casco by One Lupine, colorway Echo Lake. Pattern is seafoam scarf/shawl on Ravelry.
I& #039 ;ve been wanting to try my hand at mala making for years, so I finally quit stalling and did it. All natural jade, moonstone, and rose quartz gemstones. Some of my favorites for their many different properties on a spiritual/mental/emotional level. Also, my middle name is Jade so I& #039 ;ve always had a special love for this stone. The guru bead is a Rudraksha seed that I& #039 ;ve had for about 8 years; the first time my Mom went to see Amma, a Hindu spiritual leader and saint to her people, she held this Rudraksha seed as she received a blessing and hug from Amma, her way of spreading love and compassion to the world. I was lucky enough to go the following year and I suggest finding Amma during her tours through the US, her energy is like nothing I& #039 ;ve ever experienced. My Mom brought the Rudraksha home to me and I& #039 ;ve kept it very safe and even wore it by itself around my neck for a time. I& #039 ;m happy it& #039 ;s now found a home with some of my favorite gemstones as it, like the gemstones, has amazing spiritual, mental and emotional benefits for the wearer. I not only Reiki infused this mala for hours as I made it, she was also charged in the full strawberry moon. The tassel may change, but for now I& #039 ;m happy with it: black and white for my simple, more masculine classic side, pink for my playful feminine side. All about balance. Finding new ways to meditate by creating brings me so much joy.
Take 2 of this project. Learning 2 color #BriocheKnitting in the round is a lot easier than worked flat, but it still took me about 2 weeks to get into a good rhythm. It makes such a squishy fabric!!! Dark yarn: May The 4th Be With you by @_lolodidit Light yarn: Phunky Fairy by @stitchtogetherstudio
