“The most crucial thing you can do when you are stressed or anxious is to make sure you are continuing to look after yourself.” April is National Stress Awareness Month. Here at RMH-NY, we recognize the high-stress situations our families are dealing with while battling pediatric cancer. To alleviate their stress and ensure that all family members are looking after themselves the House provides daily wellness programming, support groups and a community that understands what they are going through. #NationalStressAwarenessMonth
Meet Gia. When Gia was 18 months old, she was diagnosed with stage III Nueroblastoma. Over the last year, she has received a number of high-risk treatments – chemotherapy, radiation, two bone marrow transplants, multiple surgeries, and intensive medicine to control the side effects of her treatment. While Gia stays at RMH-NY with her mom, Vanessa, she loves to spend time with her friends in our playroom, dining room and anywhere else she can run around. #Keepingfamiliesclose
Our #MotivationMonday is always the kids and families staying at Ronald McDonald House New York. The resilience and positivity these families show us each day while battling some of the most difficult times of their lives never ceases to amaze and inspire us. #Keepingfamiliesclose
Happy Easter to all of our families and friends. Holidays always remind us the importance of #keepingfamiliesclose to not only the treatment they need but also the family they need to support them throughout their journey.
After a long week of treatment, a carnival party filled with games, sand art and lots of laughs with our volunteers is just what families needed. At the end of the day, activities like these allow kids to feel like kids and provides parents a much needed moment of respite. #keepingfamiliesclose
We are ending volunteer appreciation week with a personal “thank you” from a family who stayed at Ronald House New York. From our daily meals, games, activities, trips, experiences, dog visits, tutoring, wellness, haircuts, science experiments, music classes…..and that is just naming a few….our volunteers are the heartbeat of this House and we want you to know that you are appreciated each and every day. Happy #VolunteerAppreciationWeek !

While Gia is undergoing treatment for Neuroblastoma at a neighboring hospital, she is also in training to be our House doctor. Thanks Gia for keeping us all in check! #KeepingFamiliesClose
You’ve all met Emmalyn - now meet her brother, Colton! Colton and Emmalyn have both been diagnosed with Chiari malformations causing them to undergo numerous brain surgeries. While Emmalyn still receives treatment here in NYC, Colton is able to enjoy things like building a hand-made boat during our Sibling Support Group! #keepingfamiliesclose #chiarimalformation
