  • These last few days I’ve been doing daily stretches and I have gotten a lot better with my king dancer (i call it scorpion). I feel really happy because I have been stretching a lot and only like 2-3weeks ago my knee wasn’t as straight as it now is!!   • These last few days I’ve been doing daily stretches and I have gotten a lot better with my king dancer (i call it scorpion).   • "I found in my research that the biggest reason people aren’t more self-compassionate is that they are afraid they’ll become self-indulgent. They believe self-criticism is what keeps them in line. Most people have gotten it wrong because our culture says being hard on yourself is the way to be." – Kristin Neff . I& #039 ;m an Asian American. I originally built up who I was by being ridiculously hard on myself. My parents were critical of me, because they wanted me to succeed in life, but they were never as critical as I was towards myself. I even really worried my mother back then, because every time I didn’t perform to my expectations, I would throw a fit about how much I “sucked” at everything. My mother pretended to mishear “sucks” as “socks”, so every time I grew frustrated with myself, she would tell me she didn’t want to hear any more about my socks. I realized that being angry about socks is just as ridiculous as setting such high expectations and punishing myself for not meeting them. So, now when I’m way too hard on myself, I stop and remind myself I’m a badass and falling on my face is part of the journey. And I should stop being so mad about socks. Sometimes the funny things your parents say to you end up sticking with you. . The next time you fail and you lay broken in a heap on the ground. Take a deep breath, let go of the anger you have towards yourself, stand, and rise to the challenge. Because it’s a waste of time to be angry about socks. Thanks, Mom. 😉 . Photo Credit: @whoisbossk

I'm an Asian American. I originally built up who I was by being ridiculously hard on myself. My parents were critical of me, because they wanted me to succeed in life, but they were never as critical as I was towards myself.   • Nothing in this world compares to the comfort and security of having someone just hold your hand. ⁣Even if that someone has fur.⁣ ⁣⁣ I have a special bond with dogs, most people who know me will even say it amazes them and is beyond words. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I have never met a dog like Ranger. He LOVES to hold your hand. Literally, he will squeeze his paw when it is in your hand. It is one of the sweetest things I have ever experienced with a dog. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ He always seems to know too just exactly when you need it. He makes me smile and hugs my heart each time he does it.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ You never know where love can come from but what is more important is that you stay open to receiving it at any moment.   • A group of us just returned from a life-expanding healing retreat to a remote area in Mexico that is only accessed by boat. There are NO ROADS in or out. In the town next to the center, there is a small school with about 60 kids ages, kindergarten through 6th grade. 3 rooms, 3 teachers (the director is the teacher of one of the classes). We were blessed to go teach yoga and meditation to these children and to discover their immediate need for supplies and equipment and their ongoing needs… this school is bare bones. With contributions donated from each of our participants, as well as a few of the other guests, gwe were able to go into town to purchase items that would serve this sweet community of children both immediately and longterm. One of our participants even was so kind to offer to set up wifi for the school and to pay for the monthly premiums. Being able to spend time with these sweet souls and to serve them through yoga was an enormous blessings (very heartwarming and yes, FUN!). Serving others has been instilled in me through my family. Serving our community has opened my awareness that there is no greater yoga than seva, serving this small school was so sweet and deeply humbling. Please surround this precious area and these bright souls in healing vibrations as hurricane Willa is approaching land fall in the area. My they all be safe and protected. “We are on this planet to love each other, to serve each other, and to uplift each other. We have come to this Earth to give, not to take. Don’t take pride in taking. Give. Give, and there will be virtue in what you will be given.” Yogi Bhajan I will be teaching gentle Kundalini Yoga and Meditation tomorrow night at 7pm… proceeds from this class will be donated to this school through the Seva Project.   • 남성회원님이 선생님이 바뀐 줄로 알으셨다, 하셔가지고ㅋ "네 처음뵙겠습니댱"ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 한달동안은 "심경변화 없이 그냥 잘랐어요~" 써 붙여야 한다고 들 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ회원님들께서 거기에다가 나 대신, 아무 이유 없이 잘랐대, 해주신다. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ이제는 말해주기 번거로우신지 써 붙이라고 ㅋㅋㅋ 오늘 간만에 오신 얼굴 보고 진짜 눈물나기 직전으로 기쁨.... 그리운 얼굴들이 한명 한명 삶에서 늘어가는 것은 감사하지만 소리 소문 없이 눈치껏 기다리는 나의 입장은 언제나 쓸쓸한 그 사랑의 뒷면...거기가 가끔 아프다. 눈치로 알음 알음 알아가다보니 하도 겨워서 하늘이 미리 일러주는가보다 그이가 곧 올 것이며 이유가 있었으니 느이는 또 기다리라... 그렇게.

오늘 간만에 오신 얼굴 보고 진짜 눈물나기 직전으로 기쁨.... 그리운 얼굴들이 한명 한명 삶에서 늘어가는 것은 감사하지만 소리 소문 없이 눈치껏 기다리는 나의 입장은 언제나 쓸쓸한 그 사랑의 뒷면...거기가 가끔 아프다. 
눈치로 알음 알음 알아가다보니 하도 겨워서 하늘이 미리 일러주는가보다 그이가 곧 올 것이며 이유가 있었으니 느이는 또 기다리라... 그렇게.
