Um estudo recente avaliou os efeitos de protocolos de treinamento de força excêntrico, treinamento concêntrico, hipertrofia e resistência muscular após um período de treinamento e destreinamento. .

PROTOCOLO
Um grupo de 34 homens treinados foi alocado aleatoriamente em grupo controle, excêntrico, concêntrico ou tradicional (excêntrico + concêntrico). O programa de treinamento foi baseado no supino onde o volume de treinamento foi equalizado entre os grupos. Antes e após o programa de treinamento de 6 semanas e novamente 6 semanas depois (destreinamento), foi medida a força relativa (1RM / massa corporal), o número máximo de repetições em uma carga fixa e a circunferência do peitoral.

RESULTADOS
Os resultados mostraram que todo os três grupos de treino melhoraram a força relativa no supino de forma similar e significativa após o período de treinamento de 6 semanas, sem diferença entre grupos. .

Após o período de destreinamento de 6 semanas, apenas o grupo de treinamento excêntrico manteve a força relativa acima das condições de pré-teste, enquanto os outros dois  retornaram aos valores de referência. Além disso, apenas o grupo de treinamento excêntrico melhorou e manteve sua resistência muscular em uma média de +3 repetições em uma carga fixa, além de ser o único grupo a melhorar e manter a circunferência do peitoral (+ 2-3 cm).

CONCLUSÃO
Portanto, para criar efeitos duradouros em força, resistência e hipertrofia, os treinadores podem querer considerar o treinamento excêntrico, particularmente antes de longas pausas como períodos de férias . .

    ANXIETY⚡️ As I leave home to compete at a large JiuJitsu tournament the story in my head begins + my mind starts to race to all the what if’s... Before I know it I’m in a whirlpool of doubt + my anxiety becomes quite physical; sweat, nausea + worse 🤮 That was years ago, Luckily now, I have tools. Through the practice of yoga + meditation I learned something very special. Often, I found myself deep in poses + the same feelings of stress or anxiety would start to come up, the only thing that would save me was another ujjai breath + to focus just on that.💨 I realised, that the breath brought me into the present moment, my awareness back into myself + the world around me. To be perfectly present in the here + now. 💡 All the stories suddenly stopped with one thoughtless breath! I started to use this in my daily life anytime I started to feel anxious; driving, stressful conversations, at JiuJitsu training + competitions. Focus moved from the ‘story’ to the the sensations on my skin + the beat of my heart. Gratitude + relief was instant. After years of practice I can now say that I don’t feel anxious or have anxiety anymore. Everything I needed, was inside of myself. Can you relate??

Yesterday a friend reached out to me about a hateful message she received from a girl online about something she’s invested her heart and soul into.
.
She said to me “I feel very low. I know I am doing all these things for the right reason...I know this, but my mind isn’t agreeing with me”. 💔
.
My heart sunk. I know the feeling all too well. My logic tells me one thing and my emotion another. The battle begins and you feel trapped in the middle.
.
Friend, if you’re reading this and you’re currently caught in the middle too...go with what you know, because what you feel is temporary.
.
Emotion is a powerful force within each of us, that if released can cloud even the most logical of minds.
.
When the smoke clears, logic will still be left standing, so long as you stand your ground.
.
Maybe it’s not another person provoking those feelings, maybe it’s your own thoughts. If so, take a moment to write it down or say it out loud.
.
Get your feelings out of your system. Feel them, acknowledge them, and then dismiss them. Exchange them for what you know. 💖
