Time for some Real talk. Most people have an idea in their mind of what they want to achieve in their fitness journey. They want to get stronger, faster, look better naked, and generally feel better about themselves. The problem is there’s so much information out there that is absolute garbage. Fad diets, teas that make you shit yourself for days, horrendous workout plans, and even some really - REALLY bad coaches. All of this i just mentioned will give you one thing: instant gratification followed by a massive plateau, confusion, exhaustion, metabolism crash, an unhealthy relationship with food and fitness, and In some cases drug dependence. ⁣

Sure, you may lose 10, 20, even 40+ pounds on these diets. But when you choose to utilize this path you’re literally lighting the fuse to a bomb .. and when that bomb goes off it will ruin your metabolism, physique, and can lead to SEVERE health problems - and even death. The Moral of the story is that fitness is a marathon, not a sprint. Results take time, effort, and most of all CONSISTENCY! And if you ever come across a fitness “expert” who tells you to hop on a plethora of Drugs, has you doing hours of cardio a day, eating nothing but steamed broccoli and boiled chicken, all while in a planned caloric deficit of 1000+ per day - tell them “F*ck you very much, get lost”. ⁣🖕🏻

You need to visualize your goals. Hire yourself someone that knows how to start up that furnace that is your metabolism. Get a personalized workout plan. And get to F*cking work! 💪🏻👊🏻⁣

1️⃣ ENGAGE YOU LATS
Even before you unrack your weight make sure to retract and depress your scapula (= pull your shoulder blades back and down into your pockets like in a lat pulldown) to create tension in your upper back. By doing so you will create maximum stability in your shoulders and keep them healthy in the long run 🔥
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ LEG DRIVE
Place your feet on the ground and make sure to push the heels down towards the floor while squeezing your glutes. Again, this will increase overall tension and stability, making your lift much more efficient and powerful 💥
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ ARCH YOUR BACK
Create a „bridge“ between your ass and your upper back to ensure your shoulders can stay in a good locked position on the bench at all times. This will safe you tears 😭 in the long run. Don’t forget to keep your core engaged though💥
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4️⃣ BREATHING 
Take a deep breathe into your belly and contract your abdominal muscles to create a stable midline to effectively support the weight 🏋🏻‍♂️ Your trunk should inflate like a balloon 🎈 Lower the weight under control. During the concentric phase (=pushing up) gradually exhale 🗣 or, if you prefer and are more advanced, breathe out at the end of the lift 🌪

    I’ve got two favourite things for travelling. One’s my spork so I can eat food, mainly my pack lunches, anywhere. I am that nerd traveller who eats from Tupperware on a beach. The second are these Drybells. Portable kettlebells that fill with sand up to 17kg. I use them almost daily to exercise. And I use them as waterproof dive bags for lakeside frolicking and waterfall hunting. Currently doing a lot of frolicking here in Bacalar’s seven colour lake. I found them on Amazon before I left London for a nomad life. I’ve since got to know the wizard who invented them. Awesome surfer lad from Wales. Still can’t beat a TRX though 🤭.
