Another amazing fundraiser just about yesterday.... my incredile 90 year old Mum wanted to raise money for her grandson. So today she opened her gardens, with a traditional Devon cream tea. £625 raised!! Thank you to Marcella Devenish, Jan, Becky, Malc for helping out. Esme Osborne aged 9 also raised money with her very own stall, all her own idea.

Going through some old photos & videos of Callum made me desperately, desperately sad and we all feel his loss so very deeply.....family....friends....and many other people who hear about his death too.
We need to change things for young people with autism at a very vulnerable stage of their life. I am meeting so many incredible people. Here is quote from a young man I meet recently, with Aspergers... “ Autism is that eclectic mix of ability and disability; in each of us. Counter intuitively, the higher functioning you are the more distressing this mismatch becomes...

#everestingforcal “@callum_wylie_foundation Consider this, cycling UP-hill for 29,029 ft. It will take around 10 hours of pure sweat, slog, and sheer determination and is the next incredible #shred4cal to take place. Callum would be in awe if these two dudes!
Aiden O'Leary and Callum Dixon are ‘EVERESTING’ for The Callum Wylie Foundation in around a months time!
Please read and share: "A successful Everesting admits the rider to a unique club known as HELLS 500 and it’s been dubbed ‘one of the most exclusive clubs in ythe world’..."
When I consider the agony that these two young men are prepared to put themselves through in order to raise funds for the Callum Wylie Foundation, I am truly humbled. When I sit and talk to Kev and Charly Wylie about the numerous hurdles they both faced in trying to get much needed intervention for their late son, I am entirely ashamed. Too many existing organisations and institutions ignore critical information from parents and/or relatives about the crises that their loved ones face on a daily basis. The system needs to change, crisis intervention needs to be dragged into the 21st century. Please support Aiden O'Leary and Callum Dixon in their endeavours to allow the Callum Wylie Foundation to make a real difference. Thank you to those of you who have donated and please do share their page wherever possible.

Autism Acceptance week. I tried to share a video of Callum when he was 15. But couldn’t so here are some photos of a few years back. Always active, always on the go, couldn’t ever be STILL! Love this boy to the moon and back! #shred4cal means... that no one is staying still, Callum we are all out there ‘shredding’ for you! Loads more amazing fundraisers for the Callum Wylie Foundation. Watch this space......and do a little research, learn about autism. Knowledge means acceptance and empowerment for different thinking folk!

Autism Acceptance week.. Callum was autistic, so bright, so sensitive, so funny, a great musician, a talented sportsman. So sad he couldn’t find his place in this world!
We have to accept and understand autistic people so much better than we do currently.....
Callum is not forgotten....he never will be...ever!
Out in Laax at The Brits. James Webb... James coached Callum in the art of turning upside down on skis😩.....
Please, just look up info on autism...it may help you understand an often misunderstood group of people.

Autism awareness week or it appears better to say autism acceptance week! This week is the The Brits in Laax Switzerland. They are the the British freeski championships. Slopestyle, ski cross, half pipe etc. Callum loved his freestyle skiing & went to The Brits a few times.
Being autistic helped him to achieve great things, but on the flip side simple every day life things often made him extremely anxious.....I love this.... Callum’s Lego model of a slopestyle course (freestyle skiing). Made from bits of Lego he had lying around! He was always so inventive. ❤️ Finding these photos made me feel so sad... Please as I will say every day, look up a few facts on autism. Everyone needs to really get to understand more.....please share.

Congratulations to @tomandrewsmith and @kieranrussell35, for completing their 250 mile mountain bike ride, from Pembrokeshire to South Stack on Anglesey.

The pair are raising money in aid of the Callum Wylie Foundation. The foundation was set up in the name of their close personal friend Callum Wylie, who sadly took his own life as a result of suffering from Aspergers Syndrome.

Premier Toyota were proud to sponsor the ride, by paying for fuel for the support truck.

You can donate to the foundation at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/kieran-russell

Tom Smith & Kieran Russell have started their epic
#shred4cal mountain bike ride from Pembroke to South Stack on Anglesey. A massive mileage on mountain bikes. South to North Wales!! Why are they doing this? To raise money for The Callum Wylie Foundation.
Tom and Kieran were good mates with Callum and spent a few years biking in the woods, digging trails and generally getting very muddy!
Like us all they are truly upset and in shock when Callum took his life, they wanted to do something epic that Callum would have approved of and would have joined in too!
They are aiming to raise £1250
Today is a short day for them but then the 50 miles a day plus begin. Pretty hard work on a mountain bike. There will be off road sections to do as well. We will keep you posted on this mad venture!! If you would like to sponsor them go to..... https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/kieran-russell?utm_id=106&utm_term=rQyDE7ee

The ski season is in full swing. Freestyle skiing was a passion of Callum’s. Don’t know where he found it, but he did and spent a considerable number of years going up and down the country, Europe & once to Canada honing these scary skills! Callum often injured himself but that is a par of the course!! As parents we had to pick up the pieces😳😬. Just wanted to say a word of thanks to a community of freestyle skiers who helped Callum become a fairly accomplished skier and whom have not forgotten him now he is no longer here.
Last September, a wonderful group of coaches and his fellow skiing buddies put on a really fun and great day at Kidsgrove Ski Centre. #shred4cal freestyle competition and @northstaffs_freestyle who couldn’t have been more enthusiastic. They Raised £1300!! It was fantastic and the ski centre raised even more money later on in the year raffling a bike. Also Justin Taylor Tipton raised even more at a competition he put on.
A big word of thanks to Kidsgrove Ski Centre. They never knew Callum but gave up their ski slope for a day for free, and so many volunteers turned up to make the day run smoothly.
We want to thank you all so much... Andy Bennett, Becky Bennett, James Webb, Mason Flannery, Shaun Flannery, Tom Greenway. And for all the skiers who turned up to shred4cal.
Pat Sharples is going to help us with the Callum Wylie Foundation . We are going to put our heads together.... so watch this space!

The death of a child is so far reaching. It resonates with all parents, friends & family. Callum dying has shocked and hurt so many. This last year has only been bearable by the strength of support shown to us from very dear friends and of course my family.
We are self employed and couldn’t close our shop indefinitely, life had to continue, but the trauma of losing Callum was just too much....So a team of family and friends stepped into the breach. If it wasn’t for this magical team of friends and family we would have gone under....Kev, Bee & myself want to thank the most incredible team for saving the day! Dave Osborne, Dawn Hughes, Heather Beale, Pete Butler, Andrew Barnwell, Carolyn Bird, Phil Blain. Then Sandra & Mark Dennett decided to give us much needed breaks, allowing us to go away and have holidays. A few times last year & this year too, Mark & Sandra came and stayed, looked after Rhum and the shop. Four times we have escaped thanks to their selfless generosity! Also Sally and Alan Grainger came in January for a week, to do the same. These breaks have been so important for us..thank you so much... #neurodevelopmentaldifference
