To the man: First or all I would like to shout out to those who are out there, being their true self. I don't know why someone in their right mind would want to put another human through this kind of emotional stress, for whatever reasons. Why do anything you are not confident of and you can't defend. Pick a side or at least if you're bi, give the woman heads up, so she know what she is working into. Trust me it is always easier to let your partner know everything to avoid the hurt, mess and emotional trauma that can result from them finding out themselves.

Meanwhile to the lady:
Madam if you can read this so sorry this is happening to you. First you need to set aside all emotions and be strong, please ensure you go for all STD test, if you're still sexually active with him please ensure your use protection while you figure out your next move and above all it is always good to seek professional help. God bless

Ever wonder why there is no real female equivalent of Viagra? Well for one, there is something to say about full on sexism that takes place. But also, it’s for safety reasons. These male performance enhancing drugs, like the aforementioned Viagra and also Cialis, which do not address underlying issues for men and are just a short term fix, essentially promote blood flow to the penis which helps men perform. It’s a little more difficult for female identifying individuals because science has not quite figured out the mechanics of sexual desire. Unlike drugs out there for men, the ones on the market for women need to be taken daily and can have detrimental side effects. A majority of women report that they keep their low sex drives a secret because of shame and not knowing how it can be treated. A good place to start would be contacting a therapist who specializes in sexual health and becoming more in tune with low female sexual drive and why it is way more common than you think. #SexHereandNowPod #arousal #arousalnonconcordance #ED #sextherapy #sexpositivity #sexualhealth #sexualdysfunction

    Not sure what U=U means?
Basically, when a person follows their treatment plan, the virus can be suppressed low enough that it is undetectable in their blood stream. Being undetectable means that it is not possible for you to pass HIV to a partner through sexual contact.

Some meds can make your sex drive take a nosedive. If you suspect that any of these drugs are to blame, reach out about potentially finding an alternative 🔹
.
Birth control pills: They lower levels of active estrogen and testosterone. Progestin-only pills and IUDs are just as effective at preventing pregnancy and don't tamp down libido ▪️
.
SSRIS: These antidepressants are known libido busters, but a different type of drug—bupropion—is less likely to affect sex drive ▪️
.
Blood pressure meds: In a French study, 41 percent of postmenopausal women taking these drugs reported lowered sexual desire. Beta-blockers, often used to treat hypertension, are common culprits ▪️
.
Antihistamines: These drugs tend to dry out mucus-producing cells everywhere in the body, including the vagina. But the side effect is less common with second-generation antihistamines (like Zyrtec and Claritin). There are nondrug allergy treatments as well, such as immunotherapy shots and pills ▪️
.
Have you taken any of these medications? What were your experiences?

Laughter may be the best medicine, but if our comedian and mimosas don't heal it all. Make sure to leave room for Dr. Courtney Sherman. She accidentally started the first public health PrEP program in Texas and if that's not enough to convince you about her extensive health education we suggest you come in person to quiz her bottom knowledge with some questions showing off your own power bottom skills.

We all know that the way sex is presented in Hollywood movies is often unrealistic – women seem to always have on beautiful lingerie (even if the encounter is unexpected), their hair and make-up look flawless throughout, and they orgasm perfectly in sync with their partner. These performances are harmful because they create unrealistic expectations. In real life sex is more complicated and varied than what is typically portrayed. In a recent piece for @healthline, Jess O’Reilly, host of @sexwithdrjess podcast, says she would like to see “sex scenes that include varied depictions in terms of body types, abilities, skin color, gender identity, sexual orientation, sex acts, clarification of boundaries, expressions of specific desires, the use of lube, and conversation about what people want to do sexually.” Check out the whole article on @healthline’s website!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

    Perspective 💓⠀
⠀
⠀
This week has been completely non stop, filled with incredible experiences within the adult sexual health and wellness space. ⠀
⠀
⠀
I got to meet every single one of my idols in the field, and then more. Every person I had the opportunity to share space and conversation with was captivating, innovative, and inspiringly fearless in the pursuit of sexual revolution. ⠀
⠀
Most importantly, having the opportunity to see what my own impact has done and how it has connected me is a humbling moment to how far I have come. ⠀
⠀
⠀
I never thought that starting a silly blog 2 years ago would amount in me spending the past 7 days with the best of the best when it comes to sexuality. Thank you to my clients, and most of all my beloved @medamour1 for being my mentor and giving me so much opportunity❤️⠀

VAGINISMUS /// Vaginismus occurs from involuntary muscle spasm or overactivity of the pelvic floor muscles resulting in pain or the feeling of “hitting a wall” with attempts at penetration. Many women are accused of being too “tightly wound”, as if it is their voluntary action that is preventing intercourse and oversimplifying the solution as if they just had to “get over it” 😩. This is not the case, as the very definition of Vaginismus includes the INVOLUNTARY state of the muscles involved.
... ... ...
This may occur with intercourse, or in severe cases, with tampon insertion, making these activities painful or impossible. But it is 100% treatable! 🙌🏻🌟

What’s the solution? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Gonorrhoea (also spelled ‘Gonorrhea’) is a sexually transmitted infection that most often affects the urethra in males (the urethra is a tube that empties urine from the bladder), vagina, and reproductive tract in females, as well as the anus, eyes and throat of both genders. It is commonly referred to as ‘the clap’. Some think that this term was derived from the French word ‘clapier’, meaning brothel, the places in which the disease was most commonly spread back in the late 1500s. Another theory maintains that it refers to the method of treatment that was used prior to the introduction of antibiotics. This form of treatment involved placing a man’s penis in between two boards which were then forced together as a means of ridding the urethra of pus-like discharge. A third theory comes from an old English word ‘clappan’ which means ‘to beat’ or ‘to throb’ (both common ways to describe symptoms of burning, painful urination and throbbing sensations caused by inflammation). The gut microbiome is super trendy right now, but the truth is we have bacterial + fungal communities thriving all over us! And of course we want to talk about the microbiome inside of the vagina because we are all about pelvic + sexual health.
✨
It is estimated that 3 in 4 women experience a yeast infection in their lifetime and nearly half will have two or more. What’s even more common is bacterial vaginosis, another infection caused by a dysbiosis in bacteria leading to an opportunistic infection. This is common and normal and nothing to be ashamed of.
✨
The microbiome is flourishing with normal bacteria and fungal species. Each womxn’s vaginal microbiome is different, just like the gut microbiome, and we have yet to know what the ideal microbiome looks like— it probably doesn’t exist bc we are all different and unique individual beings and healthy looks different for everyone. So what it comes down to is whether the individual is experiencing symptoms.
✨
The vaginal microbiome is a delicate balance and it can be disrupted in many ways. Spermicides, soap, antibiotics, and sperm can all contribute to a dysbiosis in the vagina leading to opportunistic infections. The following are ways to support a healthy microbiome:
»Don’t use soap— the vagina is “self-cleaning” and there is no need to use soap on the vulvar or vaginal tissue.
»Probiotics— we still need more long-term data, but daily oral probiotic intake can help support a healthy bacterial population.
»Balanced blood sugar— yeast thrive on sugar so eating a diet high in fiber, protein, and healthy fats is essential to pelvic health.
»Post-workout— change your clothes after working out. Yeast and other opportunist bugs thrive in warm, damp environments.
»Don’t wear underwear at night— let your pelvis breathe!

La “virginidad” es un mito. ¡Corre la voz! 🗣🙏🏼💗
-

"Why is it important to receive thorough and inclusive sexual health education?" ✨ The way we feel about our bodies has a big impact on our self-confidence and whether or not our intimate interactions feel good to us (or even if we dare to visit our health care provider for a pap smear). This goes further than vanity. In many of the stories I’ve received, feelings of insecurity about one's vulva made the person anxious; they wanted to hide their body during sex, and sometimes they didn’t even dare to have sex. In some of the stories these feelings led to depression or self harm. Many of the individuals who shared their story with me considered labiaplasty surgery, and even considered performing this procedure on themselves. None of these individuals received thorough sexual health education, and they didn't learn about body diversity during their lives. Open conversations about their feelings of insecurity (with a friend or otherwise) wasn’t possible. ✨ I think we’re able to make a change. By providing body diversity, gender inclusivity and respectful communication as basic ingredients of sexual health education we can offer important tools for self-growth.
By showing body diversity and by sharing experiences we can encourage to look further.
By touching upon on a wide variety of topics instead of merely focusing on abstinence and the dangers of sex we can broaden our knowledge.
By showing how to communicate, how to treat each other respectfully, and the meaning of consent we can make our interactions safer and more pleasurable.
By touching upon LGBTQIA+ -related topics and gender identity we can be inclusive of all individuals. By making sexual health education a returning factor, we can match it to the needs of kids and teenagers at different ages (and not being offered once when they're about 13 years old). By improving sexual health education and opening up conversation, we can make a change.
.
It's time for change. We have the ability to teach the future generations to appreciate the uniqueness and functionality of their bodies. Together we can make this happen 🙌🏻🙌🏽🙌🏿

For the majority of us, we can’t be in fight-or-flight (stress) mode AND sexually responsive at the same time. This is biological and serves a survival purpose.
.
Though many of us are not faced with actual life or death situations on a regular basis, our ancestors were. And if, for example, they were being sexual and all of a sudden a bear showed up, our ancestors would need to fight it off or run for their lives. Staying/being sexually aroused, in this case, would not be so helpful.
.
This is what happens with sexual performance anxiety. Our bodies turn on the fight-or-flight response and shut off the sexual response. Even though most of us aren’t facing a bear, our bodies respond the same.
.
Things that can turn on the stress response related to sex:
.
• Overthinking or getting stuck in our heads
• Being too goal-oriented
• Attaching our self-confidence to our sexual response
• Expecting sex to look like it does in the movies or erotica
• A demanding sexual partner
• Sticking to a narrow sexual script/routine without flexibility
.
Here are some things that we can do to ward off sexual performance anxiety and keep fight-or-flight mode in check:
.
• Focus on being present in the moment
• Focus on what feels good
• Pay attention to our senses (what we see, hear, taste, touch, and smell)
• Practice flexibility, mix up the sexual routine
