    This is a mini health informative post.

    One afternoon, a friend and I were talking about the different habits women go into in the quest for cleaniness while neglecting something so simple- Underwear Hygeine!
    .
    Dear women, it was brought to my notice that some of us may have unhealthy habits.... Please if you fall in any of these groups stop it. * Wearing your underwear for days back to back without washing it. * Flipping the underwear to the wrong side to wear it the second time. * Piling your underwear for weeks before finally washing them. * Soaking your underwear for days then rinsing without hand washing. * Wearing tights for days back to back without washing them... To mention a few.

    Sometimes, the problem is not the vulva, but the owner of the vulva and the care they give it.
    .
    The best underwear habits are those involving changing the underwear after a rigorous day's work and washing it with soap immediately.
    Then drying it under the sun.
    It is best to hand wash your underwear.
    Soaking the underwear for unending days gives room for bacteria to grow on it which is totally unhealthy.
    .
    It is not until you wash your vulva with antiseptic soap or hypo or sweeten it with milk or yoghurt that you'll get the best of it.
    .
    Good underwear hygeine and simply rinsing with water will give you the best results.

  • OESTROGEN // There are three forms of oestrogen – oestrone, oestradiol and oestriol – that are largely responsible for secondary sexual characteristics in women. Males also produce and need oestrogen, but in much smaller amounts than females
    🙋🏻‍♀️ Oestrogens are produced primarily by the ovaries, and smaller amounts are produced by adrenal glands, breasts, fat cells, as well as the placenta during pregnancy
    ❤️ Oestrogen is transported to target areas of the body via the bloodstream. When it gets to a target cell, oestrogen crosses the cell membrane, is picked up by a carrier protein, and is then transported to the cell nucleus (this is where our DNA is housed)

  • Feeling triumphant AF about my book arts final, “Patient File: Confidential.” Though I didn’t have the two full days it would have taken to get an edition of three printed, I at least got one done in time for critique. Maybe I’ll do a full edition over winter break because it’s truly embarrassing to be a printmaker who prepped 18 solarplates and then didn’t do an edition. Like, bro, you’re a printmaker; do it like we do. Anyway, “Patient File: Confidential” is a response to the widespread sex shaming and ignorance in our culture surrounding sexual health. The flip book, which involves two matching exercises—one where the reader matches a print of an STI to a print of its treatment and one where the reader matches text about an STI to text about its treatment—strives to subvert the stigmas, exaggerations and misconceptions about the nine most common STIs. My hope is that the reader will learn a thing or two he didn’t know. I sure learned a ton while making the book, and, now that I’m not an ignorant fuck, am finally going to talk to my doctor about PrEP. The language of the law makes it impermissible to educate and teach about human sexuality, conscious sexuality, intimacy and sensuality on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Tumblr. While we love connecting with you all here, we don’t feel safe expressing ourselves openly on this platform anymore. We absolutely love what we do and this will not stop us! There’s nothing wrong with healthy sexuality!

    Every couple of years we get this type of information in heavy rotation throughout social media. But instead of being sexually responsible and accountable, people just start pointing fingers towards communities and sexual behaviors they feel are the blame. Instead of creating viable solutions to ensure the sexual health of Black communities. Blaming someone’s identity, orientation, or relationship style does not change behavior. If anything doing so prevents people from talking or seeking help for fear of shame or social rejection. What we can do is provide education on how to make responsible, healthy, and informed sexual decisions conducive to who we are as sexual beings. As an individual and sexuality professional, how you decide to express your sexuality is not my concern. What is, is that your sexual decisions are healthy, safe, and informed. Because when they are not THAT is when unsafe behaviors become a community issue.
