Meat🥩Pray🙏🏼Love❤️ was the motto at Seoul Kalbi in San Bruno! They are one of the only places in the pensinsula that have charcoal grills, and you can really taste the smokey flavor! Watch out though bc you will be smellin like a walking bbq grill after.🤣 My fav meat from their classic menu ($31pp for all you can eat) was the marinated kalbi of course, along with all their homemade banchan which is unlimited and you can serve yourself!!😲 Thank you @flavorfullsf for the invite and @kalbitime for this amazing spread!

    This is me.
.
Last Friday I was hit by a car. Ok, that sounds more dramatic than it needs to be, but it’s true.
.
Barely a month since my last run in with a careless driver who cut me off, I got physically hit by a car by another driver who wasn’t paying attention. I had just fixed my bike and was riding home from the bike shop. Within 5 minutes, a car turned on to the bike path I was on to make a quick exit to the beach.
.
It felt like slow motion. I heard the pop of my collarbone and after a trip to the ER, I woke up the next day to bruises down my right side from my body’s contact with the old silver Subaru.
.
When it first happened I was so angry. I was livid and at a loss for words. I was baffled that somehow the universe let this happen again. But I don’t think the universe gives you anything you can’t handle and it was a great wake up call... again.
.
A reminder that life is so short my friends. I could have gone over the windshield, I could have XYZ a million things but instead the only thing that happened was a nasty re-break.
.
Leaving my frustration and negative feelings checked at the door, I am now much more actively aware that I have a tendency to “write scripts” in my head and make assumptions. I won’t say something or act on something because of an imaginary series of events I write for how I think things would play out. I don’t want to do this anymore. I want to say how I feel, I want to break down my walls, I want to risk that because what if I miss the opportunity to do that forever and the word I was too scared to say could have opened up my world.
.
It’s not going to be an easy journey to correct this method for approaching life after so many years, but I was given another chance to learn this lesson for a reason and I’m ready to go all in.

A few months ago, I met two amazing women online (how safe!), @annikasharma & @reshamdhaduk, and we collaborated about our different backgrounds and started a podcast - @TheWokeDesi. The purpose of this podcast is to give South Asians a voice, a place to call home and a friend to empower them as they make their badass way through life. We’ll be exploring topics like brown parents, dating in the South Asian culture, mental health stigmas, beauty standards, LGBTQ community struggles and strengths, unconventional career paths and a lot more. Did I mention we have special guests?! An immense amount of work has gone into this so support us by subscribing to us on Spotify, Apple, Google or Anchor and show us some love on our Instagram - @TheWokeDesi. TWD EP. 1 OUT TOMORROW. Like we always say, get woke, stay woke✌🏼
