The PeeChees - Do the Math

Back in the olden days, you used to buy music through the mail from catalogs. So when I got my first Elliott Smith s/t CD (Day 68), it came with the current @killrockstarsofficial mail order catalog. I pored over that thing endlessly, trying to determine what I should spend the little money I had on. I found my answer in the description of this debut record, because it listed 2 of the band members as also being in Rice (Day 35). So I shipped them a money order and I waited for the mail. I fell hard for this record when it finally arrived. It wasn't like the poppier punk that was on the radio, and it wasn't like the older punk that I was getting into at the time. Side Note: I always thought it was cool that even though he was a co-owner of @lookoutrecords, lead singer @christopherappelgren released the albums properly via KRS  instead of treating it like a vanity project and using his own label.

    明治半ば、この田んぼから発見された
僅か3穂のお米から
日本の近代農業が始まりました

丸尾さんがここで発見して地元に広まり
(無償配布!)
隣村の岩村さんにより全国に広まり
注文が殺到
一時はたつの市の田んぼのほぼ全域が
出荷用の種籾田になりました

発見者が「器量よし」と呼んでいたお米は
後に明治政府により「神力」という名に
最盛期には日本のお米の作付け面積の
5分1を占めました

明治時代にこのお米だけで毎年一億円(当時の金額!)税収が増えて行きました
このお米により日本人は単位面積あたりの
収穫量が多い程、良い暮らしができる事に気づきます
野菜や果物も全てそう

飢饉がなくなり、生活が豊かになり
お米と絹しかなかった日本で
工業が始まりました

このお米は昭和の始めに「朝日」という品種に
バトンタッチして行きますが
今もこのお米の子孫は多数栽培されているんですよー

名前は変われど
ルーツはこのお米と、これの特性に
気づき改良されたお米たちが栽培されています
今や、日本米は単位面積あたり収穫量世界一

明治時代テキサスの商社に100石輸出
初代カリフォルニア米になりました
複数のアジアの国々にも広まりました

たつの市には今も
榎本武揚と平田東助(山形有朋の腹心)
による顕彰碑が残っています

そんな140年ほど前のお米は
ある大学の種苗センターからの提供で
発見の地で苦労の末、復刻しました
(肥料や農薬が合わない、背が高い、晩成)

今は5.5反あり、全量酒米として使われています
たつの市のふるさと納税返礼品にもなっていますので
当時の名米に思いを馳せる事ができますよー

小学五年生の通年地域学習として
毎年田植えから収穫、おにぎりと甘酒になるまで
取り入れられています
「みんなでやる、いらない人などいない」
先人たちの心意気を地元の子ども達も誇りにしています😄

Prečo španielske a na Slovensku? Doteraz nepoznám nijakú "povesť". Veď slanina, vajce, uhorka, hovädzie je aj u nas, aj keď Corridu nemáme..
Zadné hovädzie nakrájame na rezne a rozklepeme do tenka. Slaninu, kyslé uhorky, klobásu nakrájame na špalíky, vajcia uvarené na tvrdo na štvrtky. Plátky hovädziny obojstranne okoreníme, osolíme a na jednej  strane potrieme horčicou. Na potretú plochu uložíme vajce, uhorku, klobasu, slaninu, zvinieme do rolády a stiahneme niťou. Na kocky nakrájame cibuľu a slaninu. Na oleji zprudka opečieme rolády, po opečení vyberieme a vložíme cibuľu, slaninu. Po zarestovaní naspäť vložíme rolády a dusíme do mäkka. Po zmäknutí mäso vyberieme, sťavu rozmixujeme, vložíme dve kávové lyžice plnotučnej horčice, plátok masla a na drobno nakrájané vajce uvarené na tvrdo.
