For the past 6 months off and on, I’d say especially the last 2 I’ve been pouring into Matt and Kalei, more so than myself. I’ve been the glue holding us all together. Matt even told me, you can’t fall apart because you’re the one holding us all together- But for the past 4 years I’ve been preaching to ladies that YOU CANT POUR FROM AN EMPTY CUP- lately though I haven’t been listening. I’ve been tuning it out, ignoring & trying to just keep going. .

Last week though two sweet coach friends checked on me and I just started sobbing, literally broke down via text message- they hadn’t heard from me & wondered if I was okay. I simply lost it. I had been pouring from an empty cup & it finally caught up to me. Thankfully they helped me remember & open my eyes, they helped me realize that I was truly falling apart on the inside because I wasn’t pouring into myself!

Momma/Wife I get you, I get that you are putting your family first, but who is going to put you first? When you feel like you can’t pour into others, that means your cup is empty & it’s time to pause and fill your cup!

    I’ve never been one for houseplants - I was put off by a yucca I had in my twenties that grew so big it was a relief to move house and ‘gift’ it to a friend. 
Lately I’ve been really drawn to succulents though. Like, REALLY drawn. I love their colour, shape and texture. And after a bit of easy research I discovered that they have a variety of benefits including improving memory, increasing pain tolerance, purifying the air and helping focus. No wonder I’m keen on them! 
So, I’m on the look out for some succulents to share our home. They must be eye catching, pretty self sufficient and able to cope with a toddler, Labrador and an absent minded owner. 
Any suggestions welcome.

    “Why did you become a health and fitness coach?”

I get that question a lot.  And if I’m totally honest, the answer is a selfish one: TO SAVE MY LIFE.

.
The number one reason I decided to coach was to ensure that I would stay on track with my own journey. .
.
Yes, the financial benefit and the helping others are great perks too.  But I legit started this for ME. .
.
But guess what, when we decide to be selfish for a moment, do something just for us….it’s never just for us.  The downstream effects benefit all of those around us. .
.
When I am consistent with my workouts and properly fueling my body….I’m in a much better mood! I FEEL better.  And I have so much more to pour into others!

.
I am a better person, better wife, better mom, better COACH!

.

    Took a few days to really focus on family, and getting caught up on a few things. Was nice to get back outside & run ☀️ looking at the positives in life, and I really couldn’t be more thankful ✨

    I can’t even tell you how good these taste. There’s something about homegrown produce, with its zero air miles, packaging or chemicals that tastes so right and so much like the food it actually is. This year, we got to the strawberries before our Labrador did. 
It’s not lost on me that our first harvest of strawberries comes with the full moon tonight. In olden times, the June moon was called Strawberry Moon. 
Nature’s got it all sorted. Perfect timing as always.

    Three months today I am doing my first triathlon, so it felt right last night that I would figure out some kind of training plan. It’s like a revision plan that I used to do when I was 15 with lots of coloured pens and neat writing. 
Thing is, I’ve never done something like this before and add in being a full time Mumma of a toddler and various old injuries of a 45 year old woman and it’s a different world to the one I was in the last time I did any form of exercise - pre slipped disc, pre slower living and taking care of myself. 
It made me realise that slow living also extends to slow training and that it’s not ALL about the competition. In letting go of the old way of doing this kind of plan, it’s opened up a way for life to happen around it, for me to feel less pressured and more likely to succeed and feel great about myself. To have fun. 
Also, it’s not just about the actual swim, bike, run but it’s also about learning to love my body, knowing I am healthy and strong, drinking lots of water, eating great food and getting as much rest as possible. This triathlon gives me the opportunity to self care to the max, to get some time to myself and to feel amazing about my body.

    So this happened this morning! After a total self destruction after losing my mum ( 2&1/2 years ago. Only feels like yesterday) and not putting myself first and caring what people actually think of me. Instead of ignoring them. I’ve decided enough is enough and rejoined slimming world as a whole new shiny member 😃. Just finished a brand new P.T routine also even tried the spin bike today in the gym. How fab are they! But my oh my the seat hurts my bottom 🙊☺️. .

Am so confident and feeling very positive that this is going to be a good week. On count down to my first family holiday abroad 47 weeks and counting I will get in a bikini for the first time ever!! .

    Have you ever cried after a great workout? 
Today was a real release of emotions I have been carry for a few weeks. After a horrible week this 30 min workout was needed. I pushed myself hard and proved to myself how much I need these workouts for my mental state. Every day I will continue to be the best version of myself with the hope to inspire people on the way. 💫🙏🏻 #ineededthatworkout #releasingemotions #workingonmyself #inspiringothersismymission

    Day 5 of 90 ! We make commitments all day everyday ! Committing to our employers, our children , friends, family, and significant others .If you are anything like me - you do your best not to break that commitment. 
Sometimes it seems easier to keep our commitments to others but not to our ourselves . It’s probably because we don’t want to let them down or have them think poorly of us. If we didn’t come through, we’d probably feel a bit guilty, too.

What about making commitments to yourself? What goals are you going to commit to?

Making a commitment to achieve a goal, big or small, is the same as making a commitment to someone else. It’s an agreement you make with yourself. But now, there’s no one to disappoint but yourself. You wouldn’t want to disappoint or let down your loved ones , why would you do that to yourself ?  Learning to make and keep my commitments to myself a priority! #alwaysaworkinprogress #selflove #selfcare #puttingmyselffirst #shamelessselfie #stayaccountable

    Coaching has given me more than just a side income.

Coaching has;
- helped me gain confidence
- helped me fall in love with myself again
- helped me re-evaluate my self-worth
- taught me that the number on the tag of clothes is only a number
- taught me that I am capable of anything
- given me a new perspective on my life and my relationships
- brought new friendships into my life

    Becoming something, doing something, committing to something, really is as simple as telling yourself that it IS you. Identify it. You are already that thing. Feel that. Say it out loud, Be it. Know it. Deep down. And it will become you.

I’ve been alcohol free for about 11 months. I've never identified as someone who had a serious problem with alcohol but it became clear that it had absolutely no place in my healing journey. Alcohol intolerance was one of the first signs something was initially wrong - now years ago. But I still held onto it almost like a gift of normalcy for when I wanted to feel like "me" again and fit into group scenarios that no longer fit into me. Although it was rare it was still an icky form of self sabotage.

I managed to flip the switch and create reward through the principles of regenerative detoxification and feeling whole again. Changing my environment, my expectations, and creating my new normal. One day it just WAS. This day was shortly after digging into a high fruit diet. That was the consciousness game changer. Not drinking alcohol just became me and I have started to love and appreciate the ease of it. Ditching social norms and rerouting reward is a lesson I carry into each new day in morphing other pieces of me along the way.
