    Another great stretch to help with hip impingement. 🏋🏼‍♀️
    While one of the first go to’s for fixing a hip impingement is a banded joint mobilization…what if you don’t have a band?🤔
    .
    Remember a hip impingement is often the cause of a pinching pain in the front of your hips that occurs as you go into a deep squat. Those who develop that pinching hip impingement, often have some forward translation of that femur as the hip flexes which then smashes it into the front side of the hip socket.📝

    Banded joint mobilizations attempt to decrease this forward translation by attempting to create more room for the femur as it rotates by addressing the tough hip capsule that surrounds the joint. However, we can also work to improve how the hip moves free of impingement by changing the coordination and activation of the glute max and medius.✅

    The hip airplane is a great first step. Tip forward into an RDL position before rotating down and back up, pausing in each position and feeling for your hip muscles steering your torso.
