Acceptance is the first step to liberation.
Accept the truth, the reality. It takes immense courage and a lot of pain to accept. Go through it nevertheless... for your own sake. Do not repress, do not deny, do not push it under the carpet. Accept and set yourself free. You deserve to be happy. You have no business or right to spend a moment of unhappiness. Give all that love to yourself that you keep giving others. Be gentle and kind with yourself. Have faith and trust the Universe. Whatever you give always comes back... always. Be patient and watch the miracle unfold. That what you seek shall find you. What you had been thinking to be yours was just a mirage... a dream ... what is truly yours is on it's way... preparing you to be the awesome version of yourself when it finally arrives in your life.
Love is always reciprocated. Always.

“Your heart is free, but you’re coming back to me.” ⠀
⠀
This single line from a song sparked, for me, an entire story line in all of about ten seconds. Sure, the writing process took some twists and turns that I didn’t expect, but the beginning and the end transpired before I could stop it.

This week's #MELANINMONDAY is especially dedicated to the phenomenal woman, one of mothers of Poetry, the honorable, incomparable, legendary, Dr. Maya Angelou. Since it is National Poetry Month, I cannot go without giving thanks, showing respect & love, and highlighting Dr. Angelou.👩🏾👵🏾👩🏾‍🏫 👩🏾‍🎤 🎙🎶✒❤🖤💚💜💛💙
Dr. Angelou is famous for her poems and books, such as "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," "Phenomenal Woman", "Still I Rise," and many more! Her life, her prowess, her presence, her creative gifts and works, and her disposition influenced millions all around the world! 🌞🌻🏵🌺
One of her most famous and relevant, as well as one of my favorite quotes says, "I've learned that people well forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel." We will never forget how you "made us feel" Ms. Angelou. I want everyone to ponder that last line. ⬇

Here's a link to her epic poem, "Mask", which was inspired by a woman she saw forcibly laughing to cover her pain: ➡️https://youtu.be/UT9y9HFHpU0⬅️ <Maya Angelou BIO>👩🏾‍🎤👵🏾👩🏾💜💛💙❤💚🖤 An acclaimed American poet, storyteller, activist, and autobiographer, Maya Angelou was born Marguerite Johnson in St. Louis, Missouri. Angelou had a career as a singer, dancer, actress, composer, and Hollywood’s first female black director, but became most famous as a writer, editor, essayist, playwright, and poet. As a civil rights activist, Angelou worked for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. She was also an educator and served as the Reynolds professor of American Studies at Wake Forest University. In 2010, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the U.S., by President Barack Obama. Angelou was awarded over 50 honorary degrees before her death.
