Hey can you look sadistic for me? I asked a peer for a special request for the next time they do yard work. I told them I will do some funky photo editing if they can look sadistic and make their eyes glow red. I told my friend this and she said, Suzie only you can ask a person to do this and they don’t even blink. It’s my style of editing. I’m not into smiling happy people, I’d rather have emotionless or sadistic...it’s a thing. Everyone has a thing and my thing is a bit twisted. Not everything in my world has to make sense. My psychiatrist says I’m creative. ***This image was a diorama from the electrical museum around Pembina. The trees remind me of broccoli. #miniature #diorama #trees #broccoli #farmhouse #skyporn #asiangirl #suzie #suziewong #fog #winnipeg #museum #motion #motiondesign #create #creative #hat #redhat #weird

To mark the occasion of 'Nuzul al-Qur'an' in commemorating the first revelation that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) received (Surah al-'Alaq, chapter 96, with total number of 19 verses), here is our latest acquisition of an illuminated Qur'an manuscript. It was copied in Persia during the first half of the 19th century. It opens with intricately decorated frontispieces that contains the prayer which to be said before reciting the Qur'an.

Here are the first six verses revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) : "In the name of Allah Most Gracious Most Merciful. Proclaim! (or Read!) in the name of your Lord and Cherisher Who created (1). Created man out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood (2). Proclaim! And your Lord is Most Bountiful (3). He Who taught (the use of Pen) (4). Taught man that which he knew not (5). Nay, but man does transgress all bounds (6). #islamicartsmuseummalaysia #iamm#muziumkesenianislammalaysia #mkim #museum #muzium #visitmuseum #artifact #islamicartifacts #iammartifact #iammcollection #islam #islamichistory #islamicculture #curatorial #iammcuratorial #quran #Persia #iamm20

Happy #WorldTurtleDay! 🐢Shellebrate with this silver stater from the MAC collection, featuring a turtle (trust us), ca. 510-500 B.C. Aegina (U616). Aegina is an island in the Saronic Gulf, south of Athens. Its location between the mainland and the Peloponnesus made it an important maritime trade centre, and the island was home to one of the earliest and most prolific Greek mints. By around 550 BC the production of distinctive silver staters had begun on Aegina, featuring a square punch on the reverse and a turtle on the obverse. Sea turtles were common to the waters around Aegina, a fitting motif for the island’s seafaring inhabitants. However, coinciding with the rise of Athens and the decline of Aegina as a maritime power, the turtles on Aegina’s coins were eventually replaced with land tortoises in the mid-5th century B.C.
#WorldTurtleDay is an opportunity to celebrate & protect the world’s turtles & tortoises.

Treasure: 👉 Laocoön and His Sons - I cent. AD
Civilization: ⚜️Ancient Greece/Rome
Where:📍#Rome - Vatican Museums
Family: 👉@europe_treasures | @tesori_italiani⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹 Laocoön and His Sons is a marble sculpture (h 242 cm), housed in the Vatican Museums. It depicts the famous episode narrates in Aeneid where the Troyan priest Laocoön the and his sons Antiphantes and Thymbraeus are assaulted by sea serpents, the Athena's revenge for the Apollo priest's attempt to oppose the entrance of Troy's horse into the city. The statue is a Roman copy of an original Greek bronze. The painful expression of his face combined with the scene give a psychological, almost theatrical performance, as typical of the works of the so-called "Hellenistic Baroque". 🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹 ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀🏛 Share our Wonderful Heritage 🏛

Treasure: 👉 Seated Scribe - 2500 BC
Civilization: 🔱 Ancient Egypt
Where:📍#Paris - Louvre Museum
Family: 👉@europe_treasures | @tesori_italiani⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹 The sculpture of the Seated Scribe or Squatting Scribe is a famous work of ancient Egyptian art. It represents a figure of a seated scribe at work. The sculpture was discovered at Saqqara, north of the alley of sphinxes leading to the Serapeum of Saqqara, in 1850 and dated to the period of the Old Kingdom, from either the 5th Dynasty, c. 2450–2325 BC or the 4th Dynasty, 2620–2500 BC. It is now in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
It is a painted limestone statue, the eyes inlaid with rock crystal, magnesite (magnesium carbonate), copper-arsenic alloy, and nipples made of wood. The identity of the person represented remains unknown. The semicircular base of the sculpture suggests that it originally fitted in a larger piece of rock which presumably carried its name and title. This somewhat unusual pose was, it seems, reserved for members of the immediate royal family, although not for the king himself. The statue was dated to the period of the 4th Dynasty, 2620–2500 BC, and is usually associated to the person of Pehernefer. Certain stylistic characteristics, unusual thin lips, broad chest and the posture of the torso might support this theory. The dating itself remains uncertain; the period of the 6th dynasty has also been suggested. One additional fact in favor of the earlier date is that the statue is represented in "writing" position while it seems that scribes from the period after the 5th dynasty have been portrayed mainly in "reading" position. 🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹 ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀🏛 Share our Wonderful Heritage 🏛
