  • ▪️Cutting Matta-Clark The Anarchitecture Investigation . . . The Anarchitecture group show at the fabled 112 Greene Street gallery – an artistic epicenter of New York’s downtown scene in the 1970s – in March 1974 has been the subject of an enduring discussion, despite a complete lack of documentation about it. Anarchitecture, a collective challenging all conventional understandings of architecture, has become a foundational myth, but one that remains to be properly understood. Cutting Matta-Clark investigates the group through extensive interviews with the protagonists and a dossier of all the available evidence. . . @larsmullerpublishers . #anachitecture #mattaclark #architecture #cuttingmattaclark #larsmuller #meresbookstore

  • First-year students in Lily Hibberd& #039 ;s "Time" class visited @jeudepaumeparis to view the Gordon Matta-Clark exhibition "Anarchitect". Featuring one hundred films, photographs and documents by Gordon Matta-Clark, the exhibition "Anarchitect" presents Matta-Clark’s evolution of practice as a rethinking of architecture after modernism. The exhibition features a number of works related to contemporary urban culture that further contextualize Gordon Matta-Clark’s compelling critique of architecture. One of the most iconic series in this vein, Bronx Floors, became emblematic of Matta-Clark’s practice and was later expanded into highly ambitious works such as Conical Intersect (Paris, 1975). . The Parsons Paris "Time" course is a First Year core studio class offering an introduction to the cultural and perceptual constructions of time. Studio projects, readings, writing, and examples of many artists& #039 ; work are used to examine how ideas such as frame, duration, and speed have evolved to impact our understanding of time. #parsonsparis #fieldtrip #museum #firstyear #mattaclark #jeudepaume . 📷 Shaskia Wibowo
