I call this masterpiece, "I'm super excited for this week's episode of Little Flock, Deconstructed. It comes out Thursday, so make sure you're subscribed to our YouTube channel (link in bio). It will open your eyes to the story behind 'Suspended and Safe.'"

I got this new the other day and it was in desperate need of a setup. Frets were uneven, action was high, and the truss rod was too tight. It’s playing like butter now, however. Not too heavy for a Les Paul, either. #epiphonelespaul #knowyourgear #guitarsofinstagram

Finally got some proper fitting pickup covers.👍🏻
➡️But seriouly, setting up this Peavey is going to be the death of me. I need to find a good "if-then" flow chart before I loose my mind figuring out what to adjust.

@veilsolutions Since the internet had a catastrophic melt down last time I posted about this, I figured, why not just do it again? Your 50/200 yard zero MAY NOT in fact be true.. yes it’s possible that it MAY be close, or “good enough” for you. I chose to not strive for mediocrity, especially when finding the truth is available. Sure, not all guns are created equal, or set up the same or run the same ammo. But instead of throwing the “50=200” blanket on, and telling your students or peers that it’s true, why not just go out and collect the data? The bullet is actually the truth in the equation.. it literally gives you the answer. For this set up(and most of my others because I run 1.93” y’all mounts on most guns), 50 doesn’t come close to equalling 200. Most of my 200 yard shots were so high, they were off paper. This was shown while shooting 10” hangers today as well, was missing completely when holding center. But once this data was collected for this gun, a small simple adjustment was made, and good, solid center mass shots were easily achievable. You can settle for good enough.. or just stop being lazy, go collect data, true your equipment, learn how it works, and be better for it. If you see this post as anything other than me wanting you to ask the right questions, test your gear, and train, than you’re too emotionally invested someone else’s experience. Again, yeah sure 50 might be close to 200, and under pressure, might give you results, but why not remove the doubt and put the work in? That’s all. -

Well turns out the neck pick up on that "almost new" Epiphone isn't working. (Guess that's the risk of sending your husband to pick it up and not try it out.)
➡️Checking the obvious first. ➡️Getting scared how much rust is on the pickup cover screws. ➡️ Having a slight freakout over this labyrinth of wiring crammed into this tiny cavity.

I gave it an extra 12 hours to cure because South Jersey weather is bonkers. But... I played it. It’s lovely. It plays and sounds so nice clean. Distorted... not so much. The hum is ridiculous with these pickups. I can barely play over the hum when I’m in the bridge position. It’s a shame too, the sound is there, it’s raunchy. So is the hum though. So, off to YouTube to watch noiseless Jazzmaster pickup demos. 😂

It’s not enough to only be able to play your instrument. You gotta learn the ins and outs, gotta be able to put in work if necessary. We call this day #maintenanceDay . And today— we’re doing Tine Replacements as well as preamp Troubleshooting. NOW LETS FIX THIS BABY UP🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾 #FenderRhodes #Vintage #YouCanJustSmellTheBurntCaps😛 #KnowYourGear

Went with Rosewood. Matching headstock. Gets darker in different light. Looks better with strings. It’s not even close to perfect or professional, but I think I out did myself. 🙂
