The Owl Kigoule is the first rain poncho that we designed. A huge trendsetter. The Kigoule in a beautiful dark orange with brown and a featherprint on the front and back. The white tummy has got a dark orange bag sewn onto it which makes it easily to fold it away. The hood has got a pair of big googly eyes and a little yellow beak. Kigoules are made out of top quality material which is breathable, water resistent and hardwearing. Kigoules will keep you dry as a bone and will last you for many years. All parts of the hood are sewn onto it. The sides of the Kigoule can be closed with metal popper buttons. The neck has got a velcro fastening and is easy to open and close.

“Snow was falling so much like stars filling the dark trees that one could easily imagine its reason for being was nothing more than prettiness.”

With the excitement and amazing views up the mountains covered with so much snow, most don’t realize the potential risks and dangers many could possibly have. Just a reminder, it is still FLU SEASON and one risk of getting the virus is through the crowd and people that surround you. Flu virus is more stable in cold air and low humidity also helps the virus particles remain in the air. Thus, it can be contagious via airborne respiratory droplets such coughing or sneezing, touching contaminated things and skin-to-skin contact. CDC says it's another bad flu season with up to 7.3 million people sick so far. The agency recommends getting vaccinated early. It is also recommended that people with a flu-like illness should stay home for at least 24 hours after the fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. Flu shot doesn’t make you immune to the virus but will reduce and protect you against infection. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body and provide protection against influenza virus infection. (cdc.gov) Visit ca.gov for more info.

By far, this is the common diagnosis I get from my provider’s calls, either offices or hospitals, of children & older people being hospitalized. Talk to your primary care physician. Health insurances cover most vaccines and immunizations. You don’t want to postpone your next vacation and spoil your adventure. Also, keep yourself/group updated with storms, snow conditions and avalanches in the mountain areas. Gear up and always be prepared for worst conditions. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF. www.mountain-forecast.com is a must on your bookmark page.
