One thing I’ve been noticing a lot of photographers talking about recently is the lack of Instagram engagement. At first, I didn’t really notice it because I usually get between 30-50 likes on my images. Plus, I try not to think about it since I don’t get hundreds of likes and I don’t have thousands of followers (which is something I’m a bit insecure about). However, once I saw the posts about a lack of engagement, I started noticing it on my account and other photographer’s accounts. I’ve been making an effort to combat that by spending a little time each day looking through my feed, checking accounts that I follow, and liking/commenting. Of course, I’m liking and commenting genuinely, not just because I think I should. I genuinely like the work that others have produced. I genuinely think it’s amazing and beautiful! It’s so important to continue supporting creatives, especially when they’re putting themselves out there every day. It’s also super important because social media makes a HUGE difference in exposure for businesses. I’ve learned about so many artists and seen their work from this app. So I challenge everyone to make that extra effort to support artists that they like. Support by following, commenting, replying to stories, liking photos, messaging them, anything! It makes a difference. With that being said, I also encourage people to not get discouraged with the lack of engagement. As much as Instagram does allow people to display their work and gain exposure, and as much as it helps people meet clients and professionals, ultimately it is just an app. What truly matters is your work and your efforts, and the people who support you each and every day. Okay, if you read this all the way through, thank you. That’s my little rant for today 🤪

One song in particular keeps coming to mind when we see the hills in these photos...can you guess what song it is? 😁 Hint: it’s from a musical/movie in the 60’s. Now we can’t get it out of our heads! 🎶⁣
