I just saw this photo on the Official Gary Moore Facebook page (see caption in quotes below) This is one of the heaviest pictures I’ve seen in a long time. I miss all these guys, I’m sure you all do too. It brings me joy to see that these 4 all hung out at one time. Imagine being a fly on the wall for that conversation and telling of stories! 🎸❤️ “Tom Petty, George Harrison, Gary Moore and B.B. King at the launch of Moore's "After Hours" album, at the Hard Rock Cafe, New York, 1992” #tompetty #georgeharrison #garymoore #bbking #legends

Today is the Birthday of electric blues' pioneer Mr. ALBERT KING born 25 April 1923 d. 21 December 1992 was an American Blues guitarist and singer, and a major influence in the world of blues guitar playing. One of the " Three Kings of the Blues guitar" ( along with BB King and Freddie King ), he is perhaps best known for the 1967 single "Born Under a Bad Sign". In May 2013 King was posthumously inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. King was famed for his powerful string-bending style as well as for his soulful, smoky vocals. King was left-handed, but usually played right-handed guitars flipped over upside-down. He used a dropped open tuning, possibly more than one, as reports vary: (C#-G#-B-E-G#-C#) or open E-minor (C-B-E-G-B-E) or open F (C-F-C-F-A-D). He never used the sixth string. King was said that he is half-brother of BB King. Albert King's readily identifiable style made him one of the most important artists in the history of the blues. BB KING said " Albert King wasn't my brother in blood, but he sure was my brother in blues ". He named his Gibson Flying V guitar "Lucy". King influenced many great guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Gary Moore, Warren Haynes, Joe Walsh, Derek Trucks, Robert Cray, Mick Taylor, Mike Bloomfield, Albert Collins, Otis Rush ,Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton. And our legendary guitar solo of the day is the solo performed in "BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN" by the legend himself. "Born Under a Bad Sign" is a blues song recorded by Albert King in 1967. Called "a timeless staple of the blues". It was written by Booker T. Jones and William Bell. The song also had strong crossover appeal to the rock audience with its bass and guitar harmony line and topical astrology reference.🎂🎸
