Απο το ποίημα "Υ.Γ: Α KAI A"
Μαριλίζα Λούντζη "...Like birds, you can disseminate knowledge to the world
Give it wings
On a piece of stained paper, the truth
Any way you can
Pull it out of your pocket
Give it to those next to you, they need it
They will hold it in their palm
It will rip their palm apart
And the letter will be stained, again
They say that material can take different forms
So the note became a body
A wall, the note became
Truth, stained with blood, children read about you
They know you, yet they do not comprehend you
They feel you, yet they do not yearn for you
They listen to a song, coming from elsewhere..."

    | Faiza Rammuny |

Faiza Rammuny is a Palestinian American who founded "Expired N fabolous"; a blog where she points out the difficulties Arab women face.

Faiza was born in Chicago, and after a failed relationship she started a blog, where she discussed not only the hardships of breakups-but also how her traditional Arab environment worsened the situation. She often brings light to the issues in the Arab communities in a humorous way, whilst sharing her own stories and opinions. "There's always this fear of reputation, which is something that's universally understood in the Arab world" Faiza explains. Later on she also adds "I want to be known as a woman who finally screamed out "enough!" and actually did something about it that changed not only her entire existence, but this world."

Majd is a 22-year-old civil engineering graduate, who has together with Rawan Abdelatif created a new brick that can be used to rebuild Gaza. She also founded a company called SunBox, that helps provide Gaza with solar energy.

After the 2014 siege around 18,000 of Palestinian homes have been destroyed. Not only were the buildings destroyed, but rebuilding them sometimes proved to be near impossible. Many so called 'dual-use' materials have been banned from entering Palestinian territories and one of the biggest problems is the shortage of building materials such as cement, and as a result bricks are expensive and not of good quality. However Majd realised there is an unused potentional in Gaza: ash. There is an enourmous amount of ash being produced in Gaza, that ends up buried in sand. She decided to use it to make bricks. Even though she was met with criticism, with persistence she created the new 'Green Cake' brick. Named after its' enviormentally friendly and light design, Green Cake won the first place in a local start-up incubator 'Mobaderoon III' and in the Japan Gaza Innovation Challenge.
However presenting the idea internationally has also proved to be challenging. She and her team were not permitted to leave Gaza, and whilst presenting their idea on Skype they lost the connection. Besides the communication and transport, Gaza doesn't have the laboratories needed to test the brick, and sending it to West Bank is not allowed. Luckily, after winning the Japan Gaza Innovation Challenge, the brick was taken to Japan, where the experiments were preformed and proved to be succesful.

She went on to found a company called SunBox. It carries out smart solar kits that she sources from China and modifies to fit Gaza's needs. The kit powers devices, internet connection as well as light and fans.
Now Mashrawi is looking for further expansion, not only with Japan and Boston, but she also wants to mantain contact with investors n America-as to create a stable interaction betwen the outside world and the other innovators from Gaza.
