Today's Pokemon tcg card of the day is silvally gx from crimson invasion! So, with the advent of triple colorless energy in unbroken bonds, I could see this card making a return to standard with it. The main issue with this thing is that it was a bit too slow to act as an effective support pokemon, being a stage 1 that took 3 energies, however with this new buff, you can immediately play down silvally from your hand, attach the triple colorless energy, and than go crazy with support for that turn. You can also combine this same type of surprise strategy with it's memory tool cards to ohko something like a pikarom out of nowhere for one attachment, and that alone can grab you a ton of momentum. It's memories are also quite powerful now, finally gaining access to water to fight reshizard and grass you counter the main fighting Pokemon, lycanroc, while still having access to fire, psychic and especially fighting memory to hit relevant types with weakness. Change clothes magearna is especially helpful with this card because it can allow you to change memories on the fly and counter whatever threat is in front of your face. I can honestly see silvally metal box becoming a thing once again in standard, with the rise of sylvgarde gx, and with the new buff it has in TCE it is defenitley something to consider. #nintendo #gamefreak #pokemonswordshield #gameboy #gba #ds #3ds #pokemon #pokemonredandblue #pokemongoldandsilver #pokemonrubyandsapphire #pokemondiamondandpearl #pokemonblackandwhite #pokemonxy #pokemonsunandmoon #pokemontcg #forbiddenlight #solgaleo #lunala #pokemoncards #mimikyu #pikachu #mewtwo #magikarp #dragonite #eevee #charizard #zeraora #pokemongx #silvally

TODAY'S POKEMON TCG CARD OF THE DAY IS DEDENNE GX FROM UNBROKEN BONDS!!!! A lot of people are going this thing to be "the second coming of shaymin ex" and honestly, while this card is going to have extremely similar utility to it, it's not going to be as powerful. Shaymin was amazing because you could use that ability multiple times per turn, allowing you to ramp your decks at speeds this game has not seen in years, so because of that tpci intentionally nerfed dedenne gx to only have it's ability activate once per turn for all dedenne gxs. Does that mean this card is bad? Oh hell no. Any ability that can give you any form of card advantage is automatically amazing in most decks, just take a look at octillery from last format. Not only does it get you a fresh new hand of 6 cards, but it also allows you to discard your hand potentially placing some valuable or dead cards in there rather than the deck. This synergies well with tapu koko prism star and other cards that want to be interacting with the discard pile by giving you easy access to a discard engine while also having an extremely potent draw engine. Also coming out in unbroken bonds is electromagnetic radar which allows you to discard 2 cards from your hand to search for up to 2 lightning gxs, so this becomes a lot easier to put in your hand while also getting something like a zeraora or pikarom. Is it a must play in every deck like shaymin? God no, if you are playing a 1 prize deck than there really is no need for this thing, but in decks like pikarom, this might defenitley be worth looking into. #nintendo #gamefreak #pokemonswordshield #gameboy #gba #ds #3ds #pokemon #pokemonredandblue #pokemongoldandsilver #pokemonrubyandsapphire #pokemondiamondandpearl #pokemonblackandwhite #pokemonxy #pokemonsunandmoon #pokemontcg #forbiddenlight #solgaleo #lunala #pokemoncards #mimikyu #pikachu #mewtwo #magikarp #dragonite #eevee #charizard #zeraora #pokemongx #dedenne

So, going back to decks in the mainstream meta, we have ultra necrozma because why would you run anything else in squids? Ultra necrozma is one of the very few Pokemon right now in standard that can ohko all of the big tag teams and do it while being relatively safe. Photon geyser does stupid amounts of damage, and thanks to malamar, that damage is really easy to spam, so the question with this deck is how do we consistently and reliably spam the damage? Well, if it's consistency you are looking for, than jirachi is the card you need. I don't know what I can say about this thing that hasn't been said already, it's the best consistency engine in the entire game and especially in this deck where you can grab cards like mysterious treasure to put cards into the discard pile while setting up squids or grabbing switch cards to constantly get it in and out of the active while you charge up ultra necrozma. Viridian forest is also an extremely nice addition for this deck because of ultra necrozma's energy cost. You can potentially put a psychic energy into the discard pile and grab a metal energy from the deck to attach it to ultra while still having a psychic energy in the discard pile. Of course because this is malamar, we do need some Pokemon supporting necrozma because while it does do most of the heavy lifting with big kos, it needs some backup. Obviously giratina is a strong card in any discard engine for it's spread damage, and marshadow gx can help in numerous fighting matchups however this has access to gengar mimikyu who can punish your opponent for holding items too long in thier hand. Squids has always been one of the most flexible cards in standard, so now that it has a unifying force in ultra, it's easier to play and build around it. #nintendo #gamefreak #pokemonswordshield #gameboy #pokemon #pokemonredandblue #pokemongoldandsilver #pokemonxy #pokemonsunandmoon #pokemontcg #forbiddenlight #solgaleo #lunala #necrozma #duskmanenecrozma #dawnwingsnecrozma #ultranecrozma #pokemoncards #zygarde #xerneas #yveltal #greninja #pikachu #malamar #charizard #mewtwo #lucario #ultrabeast
