    "Motivate yourself and you will motivate others" - Shaun T

    This is one of the biggest reasons I took a giant step outside my comfort zone and became a health and fitness coach!! If you would have asked me even a year ago if I would ever consider coaching others on their fitness journey I would have said there is no way I am qualified for that! 🙅‍♀️ Honestly, that was my biggest hurdle to get over - the idea that I wasn't: 🚫 fit enough 🚫 knowledge enough
    🚫 personable enough

    But what I've learned is I don't need to have a six pack to walk this journey with someone else. What I need is to have the motivation to show up for my life in order to help others know it is possible and how to achieve it!

    I believe in leading by example so if you are someone who wants to focus on your own fitness goals, likes to help others and wouldn't mind some extra income 😉 then consider coaching!!     So today ended up being an unplanned “Saturday” of sorts. All of Zeke’s sitter options didn’t pan out, so I played hooky from work (sort of- I actually let them know I wasn’t coming in 😂) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    It was nice to get a few things done around the house and take a nap while Zeke napped💤 We shopped a bit and I learned that if he wears the bear hat, we’re guaranteed to get stopped at least 5 times with comments about how adorable he is 😂 He’s starting to move a little bit here and there (scooting) and I’m getting a taste of what things will be like when he’s mobile 🤪 Gonna have to majorly baby proof the house here soon🙈

    This little dude became apart of my WHY, my reason for being healthy, from the moment I found out I was pregnant. I want to be around for all fun things, hard things, and everything in between. I want to be able to keep up with him without exhausting myself, and be an example of what a healthy mind, body and spirit should be 🌿
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    If you don’t know how to get motivated, start with finding your WHY. It becomes the base of strength you fall on when things get hard. I had a great day full of love, laughter, and joy with my WHY and, Lord willing, looking forward to many more years to come 💙

    Why sleeping is important.

    1️⃣ By not sleeping enough you will feel lethargic and less active during the day, reducing your “NEAT” levels, thus burning less calories.

    2️⃣ inadequate sleep is associated with feeling more hungry during the day and higher percentage of emotional eating. (Blumfiels et al, 2018). 3️⃣ By sleeping less you will have more hours in the day where you can eat.

    4️⃣ Poor sleep can reduce your recovery capabilities and affect your workouts. Meaning less gains.

    5️⃣ Did you know that your basal metabolic rate is higher when you sleep than when you’re sitting watching tv.

    Sometime, our lifestyle don’t allow for us to sleep as long or get quality that we need. This may never happen to some but we can always improve.

    So I’m about to give this next week my all, 100%, day in and day out. The Arnold Classic is where I’m going to leave it all on the line. IF it doesn’t work out the way I anticipate then I’m probably going to hang it up for a bit. It just depends on what happens.

    I just opened up a store that I’ll be running @totalnutritiongreensboro and I would like to focus my energy on the business if things don’t work out the way I’m hoping next weekend.

    I also want to enjoy my summer with my loved ones. I spoke to Alison and because of her opening up I decided to let it out as well.

    There seems to be a common misconception that when you are injured the best thing to do is "nothing." However, nothing is the worst thing you can do in order to heal an injury. An injured animal doesn't stay stagnate unless it's incapable of moving. It finds ways to keep moving. Movement is life. ⁣
    .⁣
    Depending on the severity of the injury, the best thing you can do is "move." During a rehabilitation process the objective isnt to rest, the objective is to program an activity level appropiate for recovery and growth without stressing the injured are too much.⁣
    .⁣
    I am currently suffering from a knee injury and it is no coincidence that my knee feels better after I spend an hour moving with purpose. The difference is I am aware of my injury and know there will be limitations to my movements. Ideal movements for my current state would be anything that is low impact for my knee such as an Assault Bike. It is a movement that isnt weight bearing and helps put my knee through full ROM while exercising the surrounding muscle groups to bring new oxygen and blood to the injured joint. ⁣

    The next time you are injured dont use that as excuse not to move. Get your injury evaluated properly and find ways to move to speed up the recovery process. ⁣

    I pressed play tonight at 730 pm... ask ANYONE who knows me personally and they know that’s bedtime for me 😂

    Did I do it because I wanted to? Because I had all the motivation & energy to? NOPE. I had a raging headache when I got home today & seriously wanted a nap. But I did it anyway because I made a COMMITMENT to myself 41 days ago that I would do this no matter what.
    That I would show up for myself everyday, even when that means fighting with my thoughts for 3ish hours before getting it done. .
    .
