Weight 👏🏼 is 👏🏼 not 👏🏼 an 👏🏼 indicator 👏🏼 of 👏🏼 health!👏🏼 Or intelligence, strength, willpower, beauty or character. I’m doing my best to fight the good fight, but it can be exhausting. We all need to continue to educate on weight bias and fatphobia in society and the medial community. Often this will mean calling people out on their shit. It’s uncomfortable. I’m a people pleaser by nature. But this HAS to be said. Friends making negative comments about other women’s bodies? Call them out. Sister constantly talking about dieting or not wanting to get “fat”? Call her out. Brother making fat jokes about himself? Call him out. Doctor blaming every single complaint you’ve ever had in your life on your weight? Call them out. ((But I got hit by a car, doc! You shouldn’t have been such a big target!🤣🤣)) There are many reasons I exist in a bigger body, but I do not owe anyone an explanation. Some are in my control and some aren’t. But I will tell you that I am strong. I am smart. I am kind. I am clean. I work hard. I practice yoga. I exercise. I travel. I swim in the ocean and lay on the beach. I eat healthy, organic, whole foods. I read. I don’t deprive myself of foods I enjoy. I don’t drink, smoke or so drugs. I don’t ingest harmful chemicals or put them on my skin or in my home. I’m intuitive. I’m educated. But most importantly, I’M A GOOD PERSON. That right there is all that should matter. Scientific, evidence based studies prove that a devastatingly high percentage of society view fat people as lazy, stupid, dirty, uneducated, low class citizens. Let’s change that. #bodypositivity #nobodyshame #fat #positive #effyourbeautystandards #neda #edrecovery #bed #bulimiarecovery #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth #recovery #warrior #warriors #edwarrior #nohate #iweigh #depression #anxiety #trauma #ptsd #adhd #pcos #motherhood #chronicillness #disability #youarenotalone

Shopping for protein bars can be quite tricky if you don't know how to read labels. Protein bars could be the best and easiest way to get your protein in but all bars vary in cost, purpose, flavor, ingredients and macros! Here’s what you need to know about choosing a protein bar.

1️⃣Look for ingredients with whole food. This is pretty tough but try your best to get bars that have straightforward ingredients. Any bar where you can understand what’s actually in it. #Rxbars, are great bars with their straightforward and natural ingredients. The longer the ingredient list is, the better chance that this product is not the greatest.
2️⃣Watch the carbs! Some protein carbs can contain LOTS OF carbs/sugar. Some protein bars can exceed 30g of sugar, more than a regular candy bar. Even the though the packaging claims it is a protein bar, double check your macros and make sure the carbohydrates match well.
3️⃣ Is it really a protein bar?
Yes, advertising is everything. Most of the times your "protein bar" is actually super low in protein and super high in carbs and fat. Just like "protein cereal" too. You'd have to eat around 3 cups to get in your protein intake, which means you just consumed about 75g of carbs too... Most bars range anywhere from 3 to 20 grams of protein. 3-10g of protein is not going to save your protein deficiency problem, check the other macros there! The amount of protein you need depends on you’re lifestyle, goals, composition, so check in with your coach to see which bars work well with your nutrition plan.
4️⃣Watch the fat! Timing is super important. Do you want to have your protein bar pre or post workout? This is when the fat content is important. Fat slows down the digestion of carbs, so you do not want to have a super high fat-protein bar before or after your workout.
