Over the past few months, I’ve had a few really angry people message me saying that my feed is not what a “real farm” looks like and that I’m “portraying it all wrong”. I thought I’d address this publicly because it’s apparent there are people who are truly offended by my posts. Guys, this is my own personal experience and creative expression of life on my farm; I understand it may be different from your experience and what you think farm life should be, but there is more than one way to do something. I have great respect for people who manage or work on farms that generate an income off of their land. I know it’s a ton of work with long hours and lots of dirt and poop involved. My farm is a hobby farm - hence the name “Farmluxe”. We grow food and flowers for our family and we rescue animals. I’m not trying to pretend like I slave away all day growing massive amounts of crops to sell or meat to harvest. I am a vegetarian and have been my entire life. My animals are all pets and they are a great joy. Yes, I do spend a lot of time caring for them and cleaning up after them and yes I do get poop on my clothing and shoes from time to time. However, I choose to show the joy that my farm life brings me, rather than take photos of the poop on my shoes. To anyone who is upset by my posts, please, by all means, do not follow me. My intention here is to inspire the joy of connecting with nature + animals and I aim to make it a positive experience for all. 🐐
