It’s bad enough that people are apathetic to the fact that people are in literal cages in ICE custody...but now people want to be thanked for “doing their job”!? Somebody slide me the blue pill because I’m definitely in the matrix.

ICEBae was trending on Twitter not because she was standing in front of a human kennel but because she’s thick.

These pics are from Mike Pence’s detention center visit earlier this week where a reporter with him “described a horrendous stench and said nearly 400 men were housed in sweltering cages so crowded it would have been impossible for all of them to lie down.” (@usatoday). In the words of Kimberly Elise in John Q 🗣YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING
You can help by making your voice loud. Contact your senator and state representative. Also make your stance on asylum, immigration and refugees clear and loud. Support charities supporting migrants and minors.

The problems is that Dems have run so far left that they consider American Principles to be "extreme". for example, the Left is now folling this type of thinking:
Communist Party USA leader #AlexanderTrachtenberg speaking at Madison Square Garden 1944 during the National Convention of Communist Parties; "When we get ready to take the United States, we will not take it under the label of #Communism; we will not take it under the label of #Socialism. These labels are unpleasant to the American people and have been speared too much. We will take the United States under labels we have made very lovable; we will take it under #Liberalism, #Progressivism, under #Democracy - but take it we will."- #ACLUfounder #RogerBaldwin: “I am for socialism, #disarmament, and, ultimately, for abolishing the state itself... I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and the sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.” #Obama - "I chose my friends wisely ..the #Marxistprofessors" "Salvation is collective" "#Redistributethe mwealth", “#FairShare”, “#Capitalism doesn’t work”
#MaxineWaters (D) - "and guess what THIS liberal would be all about. THIS liberal would be all about socializing uh .. uh .would be about.... basically taking over and the government running all of your companies". #Lackoftransparency is a huge political advantage,” "And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass." #JonathanGruber - #Obamacarearchitect
THAT is the OPPOSITE of American Principles of liberty.
The Right in the USA still works far closer to our original liberty and property protecting course.
#JamesMadison explains: “The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined.” “I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the #Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”
"I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent a

Pericles (495 – 429 BC) was a prominent and influential Greek statesman, orator and general of Athens during its “Golden Age”. Thucydides, a contemporary historian, acclaimed him as "the first citizen of Athens". In fact, the period during which he led Athens, roughly from 461 to 429 BC, is sometimes known as the "Age of Pericles". -

Pericles promoted the arts and literature and it’s principally through his efforts that Athens acquired the reputation of being the educational and cultural center of the ancient Greek world. He started an ambitious project that generated most of the surviving structures on the Acropolis (including the Parthenon). This project beautified and protected the city, exhibited its glory, and gave work to the people. Expenditure on these projects was criticised but Pericles, through his talented rhetoric, won over the Athenians. We have much to thank him for, as the Acropolis has become one of the great symbols of Western Civilisation. The more enlightened among us realise how vital it is that we cherish and protect both the Acropolis and Western Civilisation at all costs. Hellenistic culture was lovingly emulated by the Romans and it was rediscovered by artists, thinkers and law makers during the Renaissance. In the 18th and 19th centuries, across Europe and, of course, the United States of America, the world of the Ancient Greeks was regarded as source of important inspiration. The grandest buildings in most Europe cities and in Washington DC are modelled upon Greek and Roman prototypes, and their laws can be traced back to Hellenistic models. Although Athens started out with a monarchy and advanced to an oligarchy, it finally reached a democracy. Greek courts were the first to introduce trial by jury. -

This marble bust of Pericles is a 2nd century Roman copy of a lost Greek original from around 440-430 BC. It was found at Hadrian’s Villa at Tivoli. I photographed it at The British Museum in London.

We are shocked & outraged at the U.S. government’s treatment of asylum seekers and migrants at the nation’s southern border: family separation, deplorable conditions in detention centers, and even deaths of children and adults alike while in U.S. custody.

Please take a moment to write to your Senators and Representative and tell them that they must do everything in their power to stop these crimes from continuing.

Families must be reunited, and those seeking asylum must be treated with dignity.

    Happy 4th!
Pulled up the most patriotic image I could think of from my art, this detail from "Portrait of St. Hicks".
On the receiving end of the holy-screw-you-mudra, we see an overfed, idiot politician making a deal with "Mr. Business Fuckface" (who looks suspiciously like our current president, though I painted this several years ago, before he ran). A couple of monkeys with guns protect this meeting, and behind them all we see the almighty dollar atop a government building.
Bill Hicks spoke out against this kind of thing (using the golden microphone) and I think he embodied some of the best, last, and very crucial rebellious intellectual spirit of America that we so desperately need to stay alive. Stop listening to partisan politics, they serve nothing but the wealthy elite. Listen instead, perhaps, to your heart.
In fact today, maybe listen to some Hicks, or George Carlin or Noam Chomsky, or Gore Vidal, or the intelligent dissident of your choice - and consider the delicate threatened beauty of this great experiment called USA. 🇱🇷
