    "Golden Afternoon in Chinatown"

Photography is an art and good photography aims to deliver a certain message or invoke a particular emotion. If you look at my photos and feel nothing, then I haven’t done my job. For anyone who asks how I edit, I always tell them that let my emotions guide me. I know how everything that I need works in Lightroom and Photoshop so I just envision a certain picture in my mind and do the best I can to put what’s in my mind onto the screen using the tools given to me. There’s a point in the editing process when I look at the image and just smile because I know I’ve put what I felt onto the screen. I’ve taken the emotion that I felt and was able to convey it to you, the viewer. through a visual medium and it’s so cool to see it come to life. Every photo you’ve seen me create was already envisioned in my mind long before it hit the computer. What you see before you is both reality and an inner view into my mind and thought process and that’s what makes photography an art and what makes photographers unique.
With all that being said, I wanted to create this really moody shot of Chinatown. The late golden hour light hitting the buildings, casting hard shadows and a sort of tired vibe. You know, the feeling you get walking in the streets after a long day of work.

Commentary:
In terms of the composition, I loved the natural framing the buildings provided as well as the leading lines these buildings provided. The buildings also helped the light to cast some incredible shadows and create that gloomy mood to contrast with that soft uplifting golden light. I also love the woman in the right third space to give the frame more life.

    Have you heard about Penang, the Malaysian island Malaysia 🇲🇾 near the border of Thailand?
::
Penang was not my favorite place. It just wasn’t my vibe.
::
But what‘s unforgettably awesome about it was the colorful buildings and street art. 🤗 It’s totally NEXT LEVEL!!!
::
So.. if you wanna experience that yourself, here’s the TOP3 worth seeing:
👍🏻The streets of Chinatown (as seen in the photo)
.
👍🏻”Brother and Sister on a swing” street art
.
👍🏻”Jimmy Choo sculpture” on the building where he first learned shoemaking
::
Oh!!! And make sure to try CENDOL - the traditional dessert of Penang. 😋 This shaved ice topped with different goodies is the main reason why I’d go back to Penang! 🍧
