    When it comes to magical creatures, dragons are very high on my favourites list. And luckily, fantastical literature is full of them! From the Mother of Dragons, to Smaug, to the Wyvervary A-through-L (half wyvern, half library 😁), there's no shortage of these magnificent beasts.

My absolute favourite is Temeraire though! He can talk and has quite the attitude. I always believed that him and Robin Hobb's Nighteyes would make great friends and spend a lot of time gossiping about the folly of humans, their silly rules and how the two of them constantly need to get their human pets out of danger 😂. If you haven't heard of Temeraire yet, it is an alternate history set during the time of the Napoleonic Wars where dragons are used in warfare. Captain Lawrence, a rising star in the navy, has to exchange his ship for a dragon, after young Temeraire accidentally imprints on him and refuses to work under another handler. It's a great story of friendship and adventure and I really should get around to finishing this series!

What are some of your best loved magical creatures? Do you have a particular favourite?

There was a time when I was in love with contemporary romances until I started finding them highly cliched and sexist. Even though a vast majority of the romance writers are women, the misogyny runs rampant in the writings.
As compared to contemporary, the writers of the classic romances often come out much stronger in their portrayal of women. They did need the shoulder of a man to climb in their social strata, mainly because, during those times that was the only available means for a woman to improve her circumstances; marry well!! Still the women are stronger and in some cases even rebellious. .

Ellen is one such woman. Fingers were raised against her by the society, for making a what was considered an extremely bold decision about her life, yet she was shown to stand her ground amidst all accusations. And then came the romance; a rather scandalous one! It is a story of impossible relationship. If you are one of those people who have been through an impossible relationship or you just have a heart that feels, keep the tissue paper box with you!! ❤️

.
so, aku akan memilih happy ending saja. dan aku lebih bahagia ketika cerita yang aku idamkan dari karakter favoritku punya kehidupan yang bahagia hahaha. bagus sih ketika ending-nya related dengan kehidupan nyata, tapi tetep aja aku maunya bahagia. entah gimana caranya. eeeerrr... aku bahkan kadang sampe bikin ending-ku sendiri kalau buku yang kubaca ending-nya gak kuharapkan haha. berlebihan? memang, tapi aku maunya happy ending. titik!
.
dan buku happy ending yang aku suka.... banyaaaaak1 tapi kali ini aku bakal kasih saran novel berjudul "Fly to The Sky" dari #GagasDuet yang asdfghjkl banget! novel ini bener-bener langka setengah mampus dan jadi wishlist-ku sejak kapan tahun. makanya aku bener-bener udah kek nyembah kaknee @y0nea ketika nemuin.
.

    @dylangmoss found this arrangement listed on the @1800flowers website. He bravely attempted, judgement be damned, to have three different florists make it for me. All of them, however, denied him, stating they were incapable of making this difficult arrangement titled “An A-dog-able Bouquet.” The fact, though, that he wanted to do this for me as a surprise token for publishing my book proved to me the following: A) He is an exceptional human being. B) he knows the strip mall part of me runs deep. And, while long dormant, quieted by my thoughtful commitment to chose a pave of white roses or a monochromatic hydrangea, it is still there and would have, undoubtedly, risen up had this arrived at my door. I probably would have left my body in joy. C) if ever there was a floral arrangement that could be described as the Balki of the floral world, this would be it. It would not be fair to keep this level of joy from you all, so I am sharing. I think you will agree that we owe Dylan a debt of gratitude for making us aware that this basket of hopes and dreams exists in the world...even if there’s not a single florist on this planet who will make it. #yourewelcome #flowers #author #novel #writer #books #whatimreading

    Good morning booksters ⭐️
.
Which book made the you the most confident in yourself after reading it?
.
I lately finished #daisyjonesandthesix and while I often feel like my work is not worth it and give myself a hard time, made this book me feel worthy and powerful. I love @tjenkinsreid writing style, but also her independent and strong characters. I think we often compare ourselves to others, especially on social media. Our bodies. Our creativity. Our whole being. And instead of doing this we should read more books like this one - with powerful and beautifully broken main characters that make us feel badass afterwards ⭐️🌙
Also thank you to @thebibliotheque for hyping this book 😊
.
.
🇩🇪
.

⠀
⠀
Она не такая пошлая;
В ней был герой, которого не оказалось в фильме, и через его глаза все выглядело страшнее;
Мотивы героев были понятны и не надо было за них додумывать;
⠀#oneweekonebook_dashateacher

    QOTD: Don’t think too hard about this and just tell me the first book that comes to mind when I ask, what is your favorite book?? 😱

Good evening, friends! Hope you all had a lovely Sunday. I have been prepping for a wedding next weekend but my husband and I are now watching Good Omens and it is just as enjoyable as everyone has been saying! Plus even though I remember loving the book I’ve pretty much forgotten everything that happened so it makes watching the adaptation so much more enjoyable! 😂 But I’m definitely going to need a reread after I finish to compare.

Day 16 of June #bookreadhappyhour: This book is important to me because...
•
Books that are important to me - honestly, all books are important to me because they have always allowed me to indulge my desire to disappear from the real world for a hour or a day or a week.
But there are definitely books that have stood out to me as cornerstones in my reading history. First is of course The Chronicles of Narnia, which my mom read to me when I was probably 7 or 8 and I soon began to read them myself. Over and over again. I 100% attribute my love of reading to this series. And my mom- thanks mom!
Then of course there is Harry Potter. Which I was thoroughly obsessed with from the age of 13 to about the age of 22. Thanks to audiobooks I’m pretty sure I’ve read the entire series at least 30 times. It was my happy place.
And there is The Night Circus, which I read way back 2011 on the train to work and discovered that I was reading my new favorite book. The writing, the atmosphere, the characters, the Circus! There is truly something magical about reading a book and knowing with absolute certainty that it has become a favorite.
I’m definitely hoping lightning strikes twice with The Starless Sea!

    First post in sooo long! After a mental break, I have decided I want to come back to this account and be as honest as possible about everything. I have just gotten my braces on so my lunch is a Thai pumpkin soup with silken tofu (let me know if you want the recipe) and my book that I have just finished is #thetattooistofauschwitz it’s so emotional, heart breaking but so so touching. It’s a novel of romance, loss as well as delving into how horrible world war 2 was. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Halfway through the year and I’m not exactly on point with my Goodreads goal for the year 😬🤷🏻‍♀️

These are my top 10 favorites I’ve read for 2019 so far. I’m currently reading Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane (thank you very much @bookofthemonth) and I’m thinking it could belong in this stack.

    “The library is a whispering post. You don't need to take a book off a shelf to know there is a voice inside that is waiting to speak to you, and behind that was someone who truly believed that if he or she spoke, someone would listen. It was that affirmation that always amazed me. Even the oddest, most peculiar book was written with that kind of courage -- the writer's belief that someone would find his or her book important to read. I was struck by how precious and foolish and brave that belief is, and how necessary, and how full of hope it is to collect these books and manuscripts and preserve them. It declares that stories matter, and so does every effort to create something that connects us to one another, and to our past, and to what is still to come.”✨
