I'm so excited to announce that I have been given the opportunity to fly down to Melbourne in two weeks to attend a Songwriting Masterclass with Pat Pattison and a Vocal Workshop with Clare McLeod. This is such an AWESOME opportunity, to not only build on my songwriting and vocal skills, but to also have Pat Pattison review one of my songs.

Pat Pattison is an author and Berklee Professor of Lyric Writing and Poetry whose students, including Grammy-winning musicians John Mayer and Gillian Welch, have composed for major artists and written number one songs. At Berklee, Pat developed the curriculum for the only songwriting degree major in the country.

Clare McLeod is an Associate Professor in the Voice Department at Berklee College of Music and is working towards completing her Masters Degree in Education at Harvard. A Certified Master Teacher in Estill Voice Training, Clare also trained at the National Center for Voice and Speech, and is a member of the Voice Foundation, the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Pan American Vocologists Association.
In addition to teaching at Berklee, she presents voice clinics regularly around the world, has developed curriculum in contemporary voice pedagogy.

A-MUMEx (book) Excerpt from the introduction:

Once, the great Wayne Shorter told me that Charlie Parker listened to a musician performing dodecaphonic music, took out his sax and began to play. Someone asked him: “What you're playing?” He answered: “I'm playing lakes, rivers, trees, clouds, the sea.” Quantum physics and the lat- est scientific research have established that there is a sacred architecture, a harmonic law that underlies everything that happens in the Cosmos.
In what we call the overtone series, there is the key to everything.
Music contains the mystery of life and is connected to the sciences and the infinite dimensions in which all of us are immersed.
In the current state of research of the twelve-tone technique, without wishing to diminish it, has been a parenthesis of a very banal process re- spect to the complexity of the Harmonikalis Space and a desire to pay tribute to Pythagoras. We think of a painter who has an infinite number of colors that he can use, but his paintings are all gray.
Musicians, of course, have always been interested in the playing the game of musical composition: Mozart’s dice, or even the magic squares and the various numerological devices linked to the permutation used by J.S. Bach, in turn inherited by the Flemish composers and composers of the Renaissance; or the I Ching, used by John Cage.
But there is something more profound and more important. That which regulates the gravitational fields of vibrations. A force that acts in the Harmonikalis Space and creates, like biological life, musical structures that can live and pulsate like living organisms. #amumex #aluei #standforduniversity #howarduniversity #nyutisch #nyu #sibeliusacademy #ircam #columbiauniversity #uclaherbalpertschoolofmusic #ucla #princeton #yale #cambridgeuniversity #oxforduniversity #quantumphysics #robotics #algorithm #algorithms #cybernetic #cybernetics #mitboston #mit #cosmology #cosmogony #juilliard #juilliardschoolofmusic #berkleecollegeofmusic #berkleecollege

    choose your fighter 🏆

throwback to the time that @pascalgaroute interviewed me on @thesongwritersessions! it’s been a minute, but I’m finally getting around to posting a lot of leftover content from my album release in the spring :)
amidst the album release chaos, this interview grounded me and reminded me of all the reasons I’m a songwriter ✨

more clips to come! 📷: @pascalgaroute
