If you sleep in a lot of hotels, eventually, it's bound to happen. We checked into a hotel 2:30ish this morning (Wednesday). I took something to help me go to sleep and about two hours later I realize the light is in an my husband is messing with the blankets and sheets. "What are you doing?".... "Babe, I am killing bed bugs."
My heart dropped. He caught 3-4 and took them to the front office, checking us out, getting a refund and showing them his bites. As you can imagine we went through every emotion, including exhausted but wide awake.
Hopefully... we are hoping our luggage is safe since it was at the door, never opened. (Fingers crossed)
Now.... "What's next?" you might ask.
How about some facts.... 'According to the Orkin study, 98 percent of hotels have at least one ongoing bed bug prevention program. Additional research shows that 82 percent of hotels in the United States have treated for bed bugs in the past year. Forty percent of all hotels have undergone treatment in the past month.' Most of the time no doctor is needed, but on occasion it requires medical attention. Normally a bite is about the size of a watermelon seed. As you can tell in the photos, my husband's back bites are almost the size of my fist. Those are his largest, the rest range from the size of a quarter down to a watermelon seed. The photo of my leg are about nickel size. I am assuming bc of chemo pill being in my system they didn't like me as much as him. I have a few on my back and those on the leg.
After a good shower and sterilization of our clothes, there are other things we can do, and so can you..... YOU GUESSED IT!
Essential Oils!!
Lavender, peppermint, tea tree, and eucalyptus essential oils are good at keeping bed bugs away as bed bugs don't like their strong odors. Put a couple of drops of each of these essential oils on the corners of your bed. The odor should last for days, effectively driving away bed bugs. Yes, it's that easy.... We will see over the next day if a visit to the dr is necessary.
Have you experienced Bed Bugs? From where? Even Hospitals get infested! What did you do? Share your story below.

#Bottles And Part Of A #Bed #Frame In The #Abandoned #Derelict #Farmhouse With Creepy #Graffiti #UK #Urbex. I sat and read all the tiny writing around the bedroom. Some very strange stuff going on there 😂 some of the phrases were, bad man , jim’ll fix it, must try to be nice , top off and no satellite signal being received. Kinda worrying 😂
