    Do you lose strength when you drop weight?⁣ ⁣ ⁣
There is always a stigma around losing weight and gaining strength. Or the vibe that people who want to drop a dress size suddenly stop powerlifting in order to make it happen. Massive news flash research shows this isn’t how it works.⁣ ⁣
The common argument is you simply lose muscle however, there a lot that goes into getting stronger then just building muscle. A more important fact is neuromuscular efficiency, there are very few people who are all out of neurological gains in this world. ⁣
⁣
This means your muscle co-ordination and  firing up rate these are the important things as well as muscle growth.⁣ ⁣
How do we test if we are losing strength , practice , practice , practice , your skill and frequency of squat , bench & deadlift should be priority .Start doing some single reps around 80 % and above to test were your strength gains are at . ⁣

However do keep in mind that if you’re losing weight, muscular recovery will be problematic. So don’t go close to failure in your training just yet.⁣ ⁣
GREG NICKOLS ARGUES “As long as you’re taking in adequate protein, you shouldn’t lose much if any muscle mass at all.  Once your cut is over, you’ll be stronger and with that added strength you’ll find it easier to build more muscle since you can place a greater stress on your musculature by handling heavier weight.”⁣ ⁣
To sum up if your losing weight you don’t have to lose strength to focus on what you can control your nutrition , recovery and be sensible with your training schedule .⁣

Super happy to not be on a deload anymore and happy to still be hitting PB’s every session 👌🏼 Working at 65%, 75% & 85% last night and they felt surprisingly comfortable 👀

    As much as you might like to think you can out-train a poor diet, it’s impossible. The best part about about eating right is the extra energy you have to complete a workout 🏋🏼‍♀️ and all the right nutrients to build muscle 💪🏼 too!

    Happy Wednesday y’all!! Wednesday’s are always dedicated to legs started off the workout with heavy leg press followed but some extensions and curls and finished up with 4 minutes of exercises so to say ya boy was gassed is an understatement. Love and appreciate all of you 🙏🏽♥️

    Really awesome day of training today! Team USA is looking solid here in Lima. The city is so nice and the food is great😎 feeling ready for a deload so I feel even better come competition day. Heavy squuaaatts tomorrow and then i have light stuff after that to look forward to😌
