Just delivered the photos from this amazing moss exploring expedition in early June. Didn't feel real back then and still doesn't. #iceland #moss #lavafields

Kerstin had her first Tandem Paragliding experience 900m high above the Icelandic lavafields. That’s a mix of clouds and geothermal hotspring steam in the background 😁 .

    Lake Myvatn (Iceland)
If you make it as far as northern Iceland, then you should definitely consider spending a couple of days at Lake Mývatn. This area is jam-packed with outdoor activities, including walking, birdwatching and bathing in hot springs.

Here’s one of the many Krafla lava fields, it’s the closest to the Víti crater, a 5-10min drive from Reykjahlíð. It’s one of the most unpredictable and explosive volcano in Iceland, in fact, it exploded 29 times since the country was settled. This particular lava field was from the last eruption between 1975 and 1984. Standing there, you have a strange feeling of being at the beginning of time on earth, just like if that eruption was from yesterday. The smell, the fume and the heat that comes from it, is setting you in a contemplative atmosphere, when you’re there all by yourself, it feels amazing. This was the greatest surprise of my trip, I would strongly recommend everyone to visit it. I was there between 7:30 and 9:30 pm, I had the place all to myself.

    Fire and Ice 🌋❄
.
On our way to the south part of the island we drove through these fields for almost 3 hours with no signs of life or any vegetation.
.
Later we found out these were lava fields created as a result of the most fatal volcanic eruption of Iceland's history called Skaftáreldar (fires of Skaftá) in 1783-84. Roughly a quarter of the Icelandic nation died because of the eruption and now this is all that's left.

‚Loving you is a losing game‘, Duncan Laurence sings in the radio. He has no idea about love. Neither it‘s a game, nor it is about win and loss. It is no business. True love overcomes that duality. It simply is. Unconditional.⠀
