Look at all that awesome hair @margotbingham has and I had the privilege of trimming it. This is right after the cut before the treatment. She had a flight to catch so we didn’t dry it. I love this shape & volume. Cut curl by curl.

I’ve had way too much fun working with @loganlaurice since she decided to embrace her curls in 2013. We’ve tried long, dark, light and the only thing we didn’t do is short hair until Logan walked in and said I’m ready for this! Hair grows so why not try something new. I love how she gets so many different looks with this length. Are you ready for a new look? Stay inspired my friends.

My philosophy at the moment is if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I used the same wash day lineup that I’ve used for the past couple of washes and I’m really liking this combination. I’m honing in on the best amounts of each product for my hair. I’ve been reducing the amount of leave in and clumping cream, and upping the amount of gel. Before I started using this lineup I had been doing a lot of experimentation with new products, so it’s nice to keep it consistent for a while now.
.
.
.
After washing and conditioning, I raked in a chickpea of leave in, a nickel of clumping cream, and two quarters of creme gel. I roped and scrunched that in, then raked in two pumps of the @ouidad gel followed by four more pumps that I applied with praying hands. I scrunched that all in and then wet plopped while I finished doing shower things. Out of the shower, I scrunched with my @hairrepear and then added in four more pumps of gel by scrunching it in. I pixie diffused until the cast set, clipped my roots, then finished drying under the hood dryer. This is what i woke up to this morning ☺️

@doralysbritto loves to surf so we had to go with a color that resembles the look of highlights that are created by the sun. I love using @fanola to wash the color & @olaplex to protect the hair. Using a silver or a purple shampoo like Fanola allows me to get brighter colors without damaging the hair.

Happy Fourth of July to my US friends! We are being super low key and just chilling at the house today. We’re grilling out and having lots of food and drinks: burgers, elote, potato salad, veggie skewers, and homemade watermelon martinis! .
.
.
I used my @bouncecurl lineup this time and added @ouidad on top for some extra hold. I also tried @curlicue_lu head flinging trick to see if it helps the back of my hair lot better. Even if it doesn’t, it was fun 😂 I diffused until I got bored of it, probably 12 minutes, then clipped my roots and did smashers with a little more tress effects gel. Finished off air drying, so a looser effect ☺️

Back to do what I love and can be helpful! I know I’m extremely lucky to have found this “job” and I don’t ever take my passion for hair for granted. It’s important for me to teach what I’ve learned over the years to make sure you know how to properly take care of your own hair. I love answering questions so feel free to comment on this post your issues with your own hair. If you haven’t read my blog I highly suggest you do because it will address almost all your concerns. 👉🏽 ShaiAmiel.tumblr.com

Another great wash day using all @bouncecurl styling products! I kept it mostly the same as last time, but used conditioner this time (since I didn’t do a beer rinse) and used the new leave in conditioner. Luckily, I just purchased another cream gel, because I ran out of my current bottle while styling. I’ll post an empty review soon!
.
.
.
I washed and conditioned, then raked in a nickel of the leave in and two dimes of the clump and define cream. I followed that up with two quarters of the cream gel, then flipped my head over and brushed with the @curlkeeper flexi brush before adding in another two quarters of the cream gel with praying hands. .
.
.
As I was scrunching that in, my dog developed a sudden fear of the thunderstorm that was happening and bolted into the bathroom and stuck her head in the shower. I decided that was a sign that I was done, and got out while wet plopping. I spent the next 20 minutes trying to scrunch in more gel and scrunch with my @hairrepear while trying to avoid hitting the suddenly clingy dog with my hair 😂
.
.
.
I sprayed it all with the hairspray and diffused until the cast was set and then spent the rest of the night air drying and comforting my dog. I’m very happy with the second round trying out the new @bouncecurl products!

I'm not an influencer. This company does not even know that I exist. But you know I have to tell the world when I find something I love and I love these products! Not only does the packaging make me feel all beautiful and minimalist, not only do they ship orders out as fast as Amazon, not only do these products (the shampoo in particular) smell like heaven, but they are curly girl approved AND have no toxic ingredients!! They should probably hire me. :P #curlygirlmethod #curlygirlproducts #hair #innersense #innersensebeauty

Getting a decent picture of this wash has proved to be difficult today 😂😂 please scroll if you want a good laugh. I tried out the @mysoigne gel again, and paired it with a cream this time to see how that would go. I seem to be left with a bit of crunch no matter how much I scrunch 🤔 I though the cream might help with that, and it did a little, but there’s still some there. I did get a nice cast with it this time, and it held up well overnight. .
.
I Started off by deep conditioning for about 30 minutes, then washed and conditioned, left in a pump of conditioner, raked in a nickel size of QCCC and an undetermined amount of the gel. It’s hard to measure it out accurately since it’s in a tub. I did use more than last time since I didn’t get a cast last time. I then flipped upside down and added more gel with prayer hands and then scrunched. I wet plopped while I got dressed, then scrunched with my @hairrepear and added in a bit more gel. I meant to start diffusing immediately, but got distracted so ended up waiting about 30 min and then diffused to set the cast. I clipped my roots and air dried for a while, then got impatient and finished under the hood drier.

I wanted to pop in here to share something I learned today.
To preface, I’m truly never in a great state of mind when George travels. So it’s an understatement to say I’ve been in a mood today. I’ve cried twice and prayed a lot for his safe flights. So don’t let this smile fool you.
-
👉🏼Ask yourself, why do you think we tend to always be in a bad mood? Or when people ask “how are you”, truthfully how many times have you lied and said you were well when you weren’t, or answered honestly and said your day has been shitty?
Why do you think that is?
We are constantly in a ME ME ME state. It’s all about me. My goals, my bills, my unorganized apartment, whatever the case is. It’s all about me.
-
So when we fall short on our goals or don’t hit a certain milestone we’ve been wanting to or don’t clean our apartment like we know we need to, we feel like shit don’t we?
-
What if instead, we woke up serving others rather than ourselves? Whoever you believe in, God, the Universe, a greater power, don’t you believe they’ll give us joy and happiness back by truly serving one another?
-
Who do you think they’ll give it to? The one who sulks on the couch all day, or the one that works to serve others?
-
I truly believe what you put out in this world is what you get back. THIS is why I know coaching is my path. To serve others within health and fitness.
-
BUT it’s up to you to find what gives you joy. It might not happen overnight, and seriously, it took some work for me to find it. I never thought I would. I wasn’t a teacher or a nurse, those roles are a no brainer in the serving department.
-
But I urge you, find what serves you. Wake up with a passion for it every day.
If you’re happy about your life, stay complacent. That’s fine.
But if not, I truly hope you DO something about it✨

Confessions of a reformed product junkie!!
.
.
We have all been there!! Scouring Instagram and the hair care section of our favorite stores on the hunt for that miracle product! Buying everything our curl friends have used hoping we get the same results. I was totally guilty of all of it until I discovered @innersenseorganicbeauty.
.
.
I had 1st heard about @innersenseorganicbeauty from @gracefully.curly. Her hair always looked amazing and I was intrigued by their natural ingredients. A few months later my stylist @thatcurlgirl1966 used them to style my curls after my 3rd curly cut. I LOVED my results and left with a bag full of products. (Which by the way lasted me over a year because they are super concentrated)
.
.
What I love about @innersenseorganicbeauty is their love and use of natural, organic ingredients. Did you know they score a zero on the @thinkdirty app??!! That's almost unheard of for hair care products! I love that they leave my hair feeling like it has no product in it at all. My curls always have the best definition, volume and shine when using Innersense. It holds up over multiple days and I can refresh it with ease. (These photos are of day 2 people)
.
.
You can't have exceptional products without exceptional people and the people at @innersenseorganicbeauty are beyond exceptional. Take a look at their website. Read the reason why they founded the company and you will understand why putting out such quality products is important to them. Even the bottles of the products themselves have insightful messages on them.
.
.
Do I still use other products, of course I do, but I use Innersense more often than any othe brand by far. I have been using it for more than 2 years with consistent results and I couldn't love what it does for my curls more.
.
.
In the end, I gave away or donated all of the products that just didnt wow me and now only use a few lines of products that I love. Innersense though will always have my heart!❤
.
.
So tell me, if you were writing a love letter to your favorite product or brand, what would it be and why?? I can't wait to read your answers in my comments.

What a rewarding journey this has been with the talented @arlissa. She’s been on top of it getting regular trims, no straightening and only using curl friendly products. I love how her curls are blossoming. Keep inspiring everyone!

There are sometimes when it feels like I’m going backwards. I left my first post grad job for a retail manager position. An unpredictable schedule and paycheck, coming from a predictable and reliable job.
I then started working at a group fitness gym, again unpredictable paycheck and schedule. When I left that job, I landed the most predictable and stable job I’ve ever had. I thought I made it, this was where I needed to stay. Pay off my loans, contribute to my retirement plan, and just go into work even if I wasn’t passionate about it.
Sound familiar? I think our society is going in many different directions.
We have a massive amount of opportunity compared to our parents, and I don’t plan on taking that for granted.
-
Today, I met with my old boss at the gym I used to work at. And I’ll now be teaching there 3 times a week. I fell in love with group fitness instructing, but that passion left when I was told over and over again to get a stable job. It’s just what you do.
I want you to know, you are exactly where you need to be right now. No matter who believes otherwise. No matter if you feel like you’re going backwards.
More than likely, you’re not.
-
I feel a shift coming, and I really just want to share to accept and let go of any outcomes. And to seriously welcome what feels good to YOU and no one else🤙🏼

I had such a lovely visit from @rumerwillis. We started her natural journey a few months ago and we finally made time for a cut. What she wrote in her caption is so common amongst almost every single curly person that decides to embrace their own natural hair. Welcome to the club Rumer!

    *Innersense Wash Day*
-
I didn’t want to love it BUT I DOOOO!!! -
I placed an order the other day for a few other trail size products because what I’ve been using isn’t even the best option for my hair goals. That’s right, these results are not even with what could be the best products for my hair and goals!! -
I used: Color Radiance Shampoo Deva Delight conditioner (I don’t have an Innersense option for that yet)
Styled with: Quiet Calm Curl Cream & I Create Hold Gel. I did finish with Pantene Air Spray 2
-
I’ll post in my stories later today the new products that I ordered but are not yet in. -

Wash day! I’m torn because I want to use up several products that are almost empty, but I also want to use glycerin since the weather is finally good for it! So I decided to break out my @bouncecurl gel for the first time this year 🙌🏼 .
.
.
I left in one pump of conditioner, then added three quarter sized puddles of iVolume and two quarters of Bounce Curl. I flipped my head upside down, combed it all forward, then added in two dimes of the @giovannicosmetics gel. I wet plopped while I got dressed, then scrunched with my @hairrepear and pixie diffused until the cast set and finished under the hood dryer after clipping my roots.

@doralysbritto loves to surf so we had to go with a color that resembles the look of highlights that are created by the sun. I love using @fanola to wash the color & @olaplex to protect the hair. Using a silver or a purple shampoo like Fanola allows me to get brighter colors without damaging the hair.

What a rewarding journey this has been with the talented @arlissa. She’s been on top of it getting regular trims, no straightening and only using curl friendly products. I love how her curls are blossoming. Keep inspiring everyone!

@tiamowry is killing it with her curls. It’s been so fun working with her. I love all the volume, definition and that bomb fringe.

@gracecotton came from New York for a cut. I was able to guide her prior to her visit with tips to maximize the health of her curls by directing her to my blog. I know I can’t cut everyone’s hair, but I do want to help everyone that reaches out to me. I’m glad Grace trusted me with a cut.

I’m extremely proud of the color palette I chose for @shizenwong and how her highlights turned out. I used @olaplex and it definitely help keeping her curls without damaging them. If you’re not careful when you lighten curls, they can lose their elasticity and won’t curl properly. I glossed it with Olaplex as well for that added shine & longevity of the color. Any questions on my application are welcomed. If you have product questions I highly recommend reading my ENTIRE blog not just the questions 👉🏽 ShaiAmiel.tumblr.com

Where are all my French curly peeps at? Let’s give a big hand to @jesuismodeste for making the trip all the way from Paris for a cut with me so she can learn the proper way to care for curls. She’s dedicated to teach curly friends in French how to care for their hair. Shirley came all the way here to learn as much as she can so she can take all that info and share with her followers.
If you pay attention to her length it actually looks longer after the cut. The reason is because each curl was cut separately allowing them to fall in place. It’s properly detangled (fingers & conditioner) and hydrated. Hydrated curls will look longer because they’re not tangled.
What do you think?

Back to do what I love and can be helpful! I know I’m extremely lucky to have found this “job” and I don’t ever take my passion for hair for granted. It’s important for me to teach what I’ve learned over the years to make sure you know how to properly take care of your own hair. I love answering questions so feel free to comment on this post your issues with your own hair. If you haven’t read my blog I highly suggest you do because it will address almost all your concerns. 👉🏽 ShaiAmiel.tumblr.com

I get so excited when I get creative freedom. All @yagirlcaitlin wanted was a fun haircut and she asked for it to be a lot shorter. We discussed some options and quickly realized she should rock a fun bob that has lots of movement. I had so much fun creating this shape and even more fun seeing her happy pictures. Don’t you love this cut for her?
