NEW MIKE DOUGHERTY INTERVIEW HINTS AT RETURN OF A CLASSIC GODZILLA VILLAIN!
the interview touched on the infamous Oxygen Destroyer... referencing that the Oxygen Destroyer is NOT a mere cameo, but will play an integral part of the film's plot:

During filming of the movie, Micheal Dougherty had shared on Twitter an image of the fictional scientific weapon, The Oxygen Destroyer, which first appeared in the original 1954 Godzilla film 'GOJIRA'. Dougherty, admits that the weapon which became the deciding factor in destroying the original Godzilla by destroying all oxygen within its surroundings, appears within the film, "It appears as an important key item to the story, this is not a cameo", he confirms, "Of course there will also be other weapons created by humanity that will be shown." Fans have been quick to point out that this might be a hint at the introduction of Destoryah - who in the original Toho films was created from the Oxygen Destroyer. There have been plenty of rumors suggesting Destroyah would be introduced, but this new interview certainly makes it seem like Destroyah will be the end result after the Oxygen Destroyer is used... This also makes us wonder if Godzilla and Kong will team up to take on Destroyah in the next film. what do you think? Sound off in the comments!

Special thanks to Gormaru Island for the translation. You can read the interview for yourself here!

Full 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' Trailer Coming Next Week

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is a highly anticipated sequel, so fans have been wondering when they would get another full look at the film now that post-production has officially wrapped.

After showing off a brief new teaser at Tokyo Comic Con, director Michael Dougherty confirmed that a new, full trailer would be releasing some time next week.

As caught by @Ohuchi_RYDEEN on Twitter, the end of the teaser revealed during the convention states that the full trailer would be "coming soon." But right after the new footage was shown, director Michael Dougherty clarified that the full trailer for the film would be dropped "next week." Although there is no concrete release for the trailer, the tease here is most likely a part of the full trailer. The new teaser sees Millie Bobby Brown's Madison using a CB radio to call out for help as various images of the film's new takes on King Ghidorah and Rodan are teased.

Though the response she gets is definitely a concern as the sound emitted from the radio next distresses Madison to no end. Fans theorized that Madison would be a new version of Mothra's Shobijin, fairies who act as Mothra's mouthpiece. If the noise on the CB is related to this, this potentially could paint a much more intense experience than previously let on for the humans involved in all of the big monster action. That's something fans will be keeping an eye out for next week when the full trailer arrives.

Though fans will have a better look soon enough. Directed by Michael Dougherty, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Ken Watanabe, Bradley Whitford, among many other talents. The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters May 31, 2019, with Godzilla vs. Kong scheduled for a 2020 release after.

The Original Godzilla Suit Reborn for 2018 Festival

In honor of Japan's Godzilla Fes (Festival) 2018, a reproduction of the original ShodaiGoji has been created! Based off the suit from the original Godzilla(1954), Yuji Sakai (concept artist for Godzilla 2000 & sculpting artist for many S.H. Monsterarts kaiju) created the replica. The original 1954 costume was crafted by Teizo Toshimitsu and his staff.

The suit will be showcased at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya on November 3rd, Godzilla's 64th anniversary. It will also be seen at an Eiji Tsuburaya museum January 2019.

What do you think of the reproduction? Does Sakai's interpretation live up to Toshimitsu's original? Sound off in the comments below.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters Teases Destoroyah

The next Godzilla movie has already teased Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah, and now Destoroyah might be added to the mix!

Godzilla: King of the Monsters director Michael Dougherty took to Twitter to tease something rather interesting in the form of the Oxygen Destroyer used in the original 1954 movie to kill Godzilla.

It's probably a safe bet that Michael Dougherty isn't killing off Godzilla in the movie, as he would have just spoiled it (lol), but it is likely that Dougherty is actually teasing none other than Destoroyah who was created with use of the O2 Destroyer in the 1995 movie, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah.

Destoroyah actually appeared in three forms in the movie with his final version standing twice the size of Godzilla and sporting bat-like wings with large curved horns on its head, a humanoid body structure, with a long tail and pincer!

The new Godzilla movie is titled King of the Monsters, so the film will definitely have more than one kaiju!

Godzilla: King of the Monsters has a March 22, 2019 release directed by Michael Dougherty starring Vera Farmiga, Charles Dance, KyleChandler, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Sally Hawkins, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Ziyi Zhang, Ken Watanabe and Millie BobbyBrown.

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species — thought to be mere myths — rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.” #Godzilla #ShinGodzilla #GodzillavsShinGodzilla #Destoroyah #GodvsDevil #HaruoNakajima #kingofthemonsters

Haruo Nakajima: “I am Haruo Nakajima, and I was the first to play the role of Godzilla

Mr. Honda saw this scene and thought "This guy is full of energy." They came to see me as someone who had guts, and I think that's why they wanted me for the role of Godzilla.

Just from reading the script, I couldn't understand what's this (the monster) was, so I went to the zoo to do some research.

Since it is so big, I thought I should study big animals, like elephants and gorillas.

Since materials were so rare, things like rubber were not available. instead, they use ready-mixed concrete, so it'd wait about 100 kg

It was so heavy and hot, and with the lighting, it was even hot just to touch it.

I was sweating all over my face, but I did the best I could.

I watch the film in the movie theater. instead of sitting in the back, I went to the very front to watch, and I watched the audience.

When the film was a success, I was so surprised. I was so happy

In the end, the Godzilla I played remains on films forever.

It remains in people's memory, and for that I feel really grateful." Haruo Nakajima
